Hey guys so i just downloaded 2K12 last night and have created a player.
Got drafted to the 76ers pick #13

Think i have played about 8 games and here are my stats

SG/SF
MPG 7.2
PPG 7.9
RPG 0.8
APG 0.2
SPG 0.2
BPG 0.7

Offence 64
Defence 73
Rebound 33

Overall 63

Now i am getting stuff all minutes on the floor so i dont get that many opportunities
to showcase myself (good or bad)
I would like to know as you progress do you get more floor time?
Can you upgrade your stats easily?
Any tips on how to get more skill points.
Any general info that will help me.

thanks in advance guys

Matt

Have your upped you gameplay minutes in the setting meaning how many minutes in the quarter?

The only way to get more minutes is to play lol

if you want to start making your contact layups upgrade your shot in traffic otherwise you ppg is fine maybe try upgrading your rebounding

or if you really want more points try cherrypicking

I find upping your defence and rebounding makes you a better player. I'm 6"2 SG (Same as real life) And my rebound is maxed at 55 which sucks. I used to play as a 6"7 SF and avg 60 PPG 15 RPG and like 2 APG haha was really addicted a while back. I'm looking forward to 13 with all the new rosters and hopefully better graphics in the MP.

The other one is consistency

If you upgrade that than you will avoid more shooting slumps and get more shooting streaks

I feel your pain! I actually started a new MP just last night. 6'11" All-Round C. Got drafted to the Mavs again! (I've a habit of getting the Mavs at #26 - Press Y for every question, and you have a decent chance - sometimes OKC will grab ya tho).

Best thing you can do early on, is go for screens, and rebounds. Don't try to score so much on your own, unless your post spin is reasonable. Most of the times you'll lose the ball.

Try to snatch every in-bound pass you can, and tip off the passes around the top of the 3pt line. Offensive rebounds and going back up are your best bet.

C's always struggle early on, more so that smalls. Mainly because the CPU bigs are hard to shake off, and/or move around. Hanging around in the paint/baseline/paint area (avoiding 3 seconds call), will be helpful for offensive rebounds and/or possibly passes for quick scores/dunks.

I'm a 6"7' PG (magic J style) and I agree with many of the comments above. For me, I focused on 4 things: upgrading my dunk (for a bit of fin-esssss), my 3-pt shot (from one extreme to another), and then my blocks and steals. My layup was already super high, and by upgrading these along with things like off. and def. clutch, i found it easier to dominate. A critical thing when your starting off is upgrading your pass. get as many assists as possible to get your team mate grade up, and by upgrading your pass, it makes it less likely to be picked off mid flight.
thats my spin on it anyway (btw: i got drafted to the suns, played 31 games and was still 6th man, so i asked to be traded, and got picked up by the bulls. Now me and rose rotate out of PG and SG, and he now starts on the bench! we also won the championship within the same year, so if its not working out, maybe an early trade is on the cards )

the first mp i made in 2k11 think i asked to be traded 7 times in the first year, i was never happy with the teams i went to but settled on the rockets mainly because of yao (easy assists) just give it to him anywhere inside the paint and he'll finish 90% of the time. But yeah if your not getting minutes do what he said ^ :P

Hey Zach, how'd you manage a 6'7" PG, get many SPs? Surely you'd have had to play your arse off to get something decent, yeah?

I think after they patched it, the trades eased off. My first 2K12 MP is still going, but the team now has like 7 PGs and 3 SGs! The only big is Louis Amandsun!

Hang on I just had a Brain Fade, what does SPs mean again? and surprisingly i dont, i choose athletic over 3pt and scorer and stuff so my speed is a little off someone like Rondo hahaha. i average 40.6 ppg and 2 apg on 5 minute quarters
