2012 NBA Draft Thread

I think I may have spoke too soon haha

Jared Sullinger has fallen to Denver in Chad Ford's new mock draft on ESPN... Ahh I don't care! I want Sully sooooo bad, if we land Sully, I have my new PC player!

Did you see what Chad Ford Said?

Being able to draft Jared Sullinger this late in the draft would be an absolute steal for a number of teams, but the Nuggets aren't one of them.
The Nuggets have Al Harrington, who had a solid 2011-12 campaign, and Kenneth Faried at the power forward spot, and the last thing they need is to take a risk on an injury-prone power forward in the draft.
Drafting Sullinger would be an interesting move for the Nuggets to say the least, and in all honesty, I think it would be a waste of their first-round draft pick.
Sullinger could turn out to be a solid player in the NBA, but behind Faried and Harrington on the depth chart isn't a place where he show off his potential, which makes this pick by Ford a head-scratcher to say the least.

Big Al is about a season away from retirement... And if we don't re-sign JaVale we'll need a big.

SULLY to DENVER... or I switch teams! :P

All the Cavs sites I visit (cavs.com, wfny.com, cleveland.com and others) are all saying that Beal is the top of the Cavs draft board. I would still rather a wing player over a scoring SG....plenty of scoring SG's we can get in FA. We need a wing player, we really need one.

Beal would be #1 on the Cavs list, but Beal won't make it past Washington.

I've been reading some articles and it will comes down to if the Cavs are looking for someone who will put up points and sell t-shirts or someone like MKG who isn't an offensive player but still a great talent.

I think MKG will be the best fit for Cleveland.

As a Cavs fan, Luke, Who would you rather? Beal, MKG or Barnes?

I would rather MKG. Like I said there a lot of Brad Beal like players around and players like MKG are really good to teams. I won't mind getting Barnes either, as he is another wing player that we need but MKG is top of my draft board.

And this sound great (from probasketballdraft.com)

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, the Kentucky SF, completed a workout for the Cleveland Cavs today and reportedly was impressive. According to sources, Kidd-Gilchrist looked very fluid, quick, and explosive. While his shot still needs work, the Cavs sound confident that in time Kidd-Gilchrist, the youngest player in the draft, will become an average to above-average shooter.
Kidd-Gilchrist, a high school teammate of Cavs PG Kyrie Irving, has long been rumored to be a player that intrigues the Cavs and owner Dan Gilbert. Learning from the LeBron James experience the Cavs focus is to build a young team to win together and having players with a personal friendship like Kidd-Gilchrist and Irving should be a factor.
Another factor that the Cavs seem to like about Kidd-Gilchrist is his motor and character. Reports around the league are that MKG is an absolutely wonderful person.
At the same workout the Cavaliers also worked out UCONN C Andre Drummond. Despite mixed reviews about the big man, the Cavaliers and their GM very much like Drummond and are comfortable making him the 4th overall pick. According to one source the Cavs believe that adding Drummond with Byron Scott and Kyrie Irving will help his on-the-court development.

It would be great to have a team like this

PG: Kyrie
SG: Gee
SF: MKG
PF: TT
C: Varejao

And maybe get Shabazz Muhammad in next years draft ;)

Gee won't play SG. He will be the back-up SF off the bench. If Parker re-signs he will start at SG or it will be Booby or Manny Harris. At the moment the depth chart is..

PG- Irving/Sloan/Gibson
SG-Gibson/Harris/Kennedy
SF-Gee/Casspi/Walton
PF-Jamison/Thompson/Samuels/Harangody
C-Varejoe/Erden/Thompson

As you can see, you need a SF more then anything. At SG, if Gibson can get healthy he will be able to put up 15-20 points per. Harris has heaps of talent as a scorer, hopefully he can come through. DJ Kennedy is a project.

Not next season. Hopefully in 2 years if players make good development and we draft well. I know were in rebuilding stages, so I just want the team to improve each season.
I hope Denver have some good development, Faried has a chance to be an all-star next season, as does Ty.

Hopefully our Team Can be sort of what OKC are like

from their 20+ wins in 08/09 season to their Turnaround the Next Season where they had 50 Wins

and of course their 11/12 Season where they Made the Finals

its a long way away but It would nice if the Cavs can develop like that in seasons to come

Always loved the way the Nuggets go about their business. Ty Lawson is one of my fav guards in the league. You guys have a great coaching staff for developing players. If I wasn't a Cavs fan, I'd be either a Denver or Atlanta fan.
