Official 2011-2012 Playoff thread

Disagree! I think it is harder to blame the refs! I know, without doubt, that the Thunder were the better team in 4 1/2 games out of 6. Personally, I think I wrote the series off after Game 5 even though I knew they still had a chance.
But to have such bad reffing even partially contribute to the ending makes it so much worse for me!
I have never been a sore loser, even when I play, but I just find it hard to swallow when a game is controlled so much by the refs!

Harden didn't get anywhere near the amount of calls he had been getting through the season, because the refs were too aware of the way he drives PURELY to get a foul. And I mean only the foul. Half the time he doesn't try to put the ball up!
But Parker and Manu do their fair share of exaggerating, so no one can complain about that!

BTW, Minh! Do you reckon you could shove over a little so I can be an OKC bandwagoner for a couple of weeks?

Well I am a SORE SORE loser, so good on you for being or trying to be objective lol

sorry the seat next to me is taken :p

how can you not be a bandwagoner? my "team" always win. last year i was going for Dallas, this year I am going for the winner of the Heat vs BOS series, and then the winner of the finals

i felt like you after game 3 of OKC vs Lakers game. but it is what it is

on the same note, but directed generally, people who say the NBA is rigged/fixed are either very dumb for watching something they believe is fixed/rigged (like i have never watched the WWE because obviously it is theatre) OR they are clueless at maths because they always give such a small population of proves to justify their argument.

anyway even if it is fixed/rigged, whatever, I LOVE THIS GAME. it's entertaining as hell and I love it more when the bandwagon I jumped on is toot tooting

sorry the seat next to me is taken
in that case I'll take your spot when you jump ship! Lol

Agree about rigging! I dont think the NBA rig the games, I do however think the refs get themselves into a thought process or mindset that clouds their ability to make fair decisions!

WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:cry::cry::cry:

Obviously shattered the Spurs lost today. It was actually the first game this series I was confident they'd get. I had'nt heard any news all day as I was stuck in a classroom so I knew they must be doing ok (I have some OKC supporters for friends).

Amazing effort by OKC, not just so far this season but since day 1. Scott Brooks could've been sacked when he started out with an awful record. They stuck by him and have created an awesome culture there clearly.

Just too many big shots. As much as Westbrook did provide some of those weak moments for the Spurs to pounce on, it was'nt enough. Spurs just could'nt stop OKC.

Durant is amazing. Harden has been very impressive down the stretch. Just an excellent team.

I can't see T.D getting another ring which is a shame. I was hoping for an old school vets BOS/SPURS match up in the finals.
I'm not sure the Spurs will blow things up over this. They have some very young guys. If the Spurs were to lose T.D, I reckon Pau Gasol would fit in nicely. He's very similar to Duncan at this point.

I'm not so sure Boston (if they make it) could keep up with OKC either but they will be very hungry and might win.

If the Heat make it then I hope OKC roll them.

I said it I think about a month ago that I did'nt think that OKC could get through the Mavs, then Lakers, then Spurs and then win the title (I did say it would be 1 helluva championship), well they are very close now and it is very impressive.

I will still be 1 happy basketball fan if Miami don't win. :)

And about Jackson, his stock has risen nicely, he really stood up and showed he wanted it. I'd say if the Spurs don't hold on to him then another contender will be calling.

Looking forward to tomorrows game, then the hopefully the Finals. Where as much as OKC deserve it, I still kinda want to see the C's get it.

Good call. Td is a shadow of his best, wonder if they can send td to the bench and start splitter? A part of me wants Miami to get through because okc will smash Boston. Then again all my tips have gone to shit....

If anyone here thought Durant who was a lanky kid coming into the league and jacking up shot after shot and shooting 35 percent in the first half of his rookie year would EVER become this potent a scorer and shooter, put your hand up! F#*# YOU, you little liar!!!!

What about if they admit to thinking Oden would be better??

I don't think ANYONE could predict his rise would come this quick. But everyone knew he could play from day 1. He had a great shot but was just like you said, a bit skinny and just a kid. He could'nt get too many other stats or to the free throw line.

KD is a flat out winner. He's done it at the highest international level. Carrying team U.S.A to the world champs in 2010.

He's added to his game nicely over the few years he's been in the League. He will fully deserve that ring IF he does get it.

He's really reminding me of how Dirk went about things last year.

wow...that was an amazing game...the spurs with the early jump...parker and jackson were killing the thunder...what a difference a second half makes, westbrook played almost completely under control and was great, fisher hit some key shots in the fourth, but durant did it again, just love that guy, humble (lebron needs to take a page out of durants book...lol)and mega talented and he isnt anywhere near his prime yet! pretty scary what he still could be...
here is hoping that the heat can steal it from beantown tomorrow...i really think the bench and bosh will have to step up...it cant always be james and wade every game

FINALS BABY YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :kick::kick::kick:

First time of of my teams has been to the finals since AI took the Sixers there in 01. So pretty bloody pumped right now haha

Stephen Jackson is KILLIN it. Wow

Man oh man he was PISSING me off lol..... makes 6 in a row, then gets fouled in two and then finally misses one lol

First time all season I have actually started to believe that the refs are under instruction! Some disgusting calls on the Spurs! And at such an important time!

I don't mind them bowing out in a straight loss! But not under the effects of dodgy ref calls
Really don't want to take away from OKC's game, but man..... those refs were on the Thunder's payroll in the 4th!
Absolutely ridiculous!

Come on man...... I know I'm a Thunder fan, but there really wasn't any bad officiating going on there (POSSIBLY the foul on WB on the layin behind TP with a couple mins to go); but other than that everything else seemed fine. Could you care to point some out? Sounds like vice-versa to the prior game where I didn't like the officiating against the Thunder haha

Really big props to the Thunder; looked in trouble after going down 0-2, to then come back and win 4-straight against the Spurs, just wow.

Now to see who we face in the finals! :D

No team of mine has ever won though haha....... I had the Sonics (I was a big Kemp fan) in 96 against the VERY good Bulls team and then as mentioned, the Sixers in 01 against the hated Lakers.

3rd times a charm! :D
