What Do You Think?

Collison got picked up a couple of times today..... but WTF is with 'Offensive Goaltending'??? Why does it matter if the offensive player touches the ball when it is 'above the cylinder'? At least one of Collison's tips today was clearly going to come out, but it was on the ring!

Why does it matter??

Stupid Rule

I've often thought this to myself aswell, it makes no sense and should be scrapped

That WAS a bad call as the ball was coming out.

Hope you're not saying players should be able to go grab the ball after it has hit the rim even if it is above the cylinder...... that rule would suck; you imagine how many shots that would have gone in would now be lost?

haha, no, just the offensive team. Just like what Collison did, Even if the ball was not coming out, why does it matter if he pushes it through.
No way you can allow defense to grab the ball off the ring, just the offensive tips. The only reason I can think of is that the scorers complain because they don't know who to mark the points against

^ they allow this in International rules, and it's crap, IMO.

Only thing will allowing offensive players is there's no way it can be stopped. If a defensive player can't touch it, why allow the offensive player to?

I think that Shane Battier has handled himself very well in the media lately. Before this post-season he was always a "meh, whatever" type player to me, but I've started growing a liking for him. Well spoken, humble, and a great guy.
