Does anyone have a copy of the book that came out a while back with checklists of every set of League cards ever made?

If so, do you want to sell it?

I've been looking for it on ebay but can't find it and i can't remember who wrote it or anything

Cheers

Thanks guys! Bought one from Dan's website last night. Need to update my Doggies wantlist and post it on here

Just bought one on eBay. Will let you know what i think when i recieve it. Looks great from the scans i've seen.

Hi,

Thanks for all of the positive comments regarding my book. It took me more than four years to compile and produce.

Regards,

Dan

A great reference book indeed, there's a couple of errors but well worth the spend. Mine has highlights, notes and pencil marks all the way through it.

Hey Dan, you should offer annual inserts so as we can keep them up to date.

that's a great idea as im thinking of buying this book now but it wouldnt help much as im collecting titans cards and it would only cover (2006-2008)

i have made a checklist spreasheet for my collection and cards/tazos etc of all years i have/need and that was hard enough and i may have missed the odd card or series so i can imagine how hard it wouldve been for Dan well done!

I brought dan's book and also owen's price guide books so i know not to rip myself off on ebay. mmm might buy a few packets this arvo as i'm walking pass the newsagent

Wow this thread is an older one.....

Owen's book is another great reference =D> but with the recent drop in value of a lot of cards, I wouldn't suggest paying those prices for all the cards referrenced......I'm using it to mark in recent sales on items I am interested in to get an idea of the trends and what is value.

Cheers

If your aware of recent falls in value let me know. Except for the 2012 Champions im not seeing any particular trends in the data feeds im getting from ebay.

Also remember i dont just base prices wholey on ebay sales. I take into account prices on cardzone, footycards.com.au, leski, here and even prices people take the time to send to me. Ebay is not the whole market.:D

No worries Owen I will feed some info back....hopefully constructive feedback.

I agree Ebay is not the whole market but it certainly more accuratley reflects true market value. I understand that including cardzone & footycards.com.au prices would inflate the average so that certainly explains a lot e.g. Cardzone has 2008 GEMS for $25 and would make our OCT seller of the Month competition thread on a daily basis. Leski.....I hope your not waiting for any NRL cards to sell there before the next issue because given their NRL turnover we may never get to see it.

On pricing what comes immediatley to mind was the 2003XL Dally M cards and TY Cards I think you had them listed for approx $20 each and $10 each respectively, I have sold some and bought some recently and I can only wish I got those prices. 2008 GEMS fall in this category as well I think you had them all for over $10 when I would suggest the majority would sell for under $10.... Perhaps buying multiple cards instead of one offs also gives me the impression of them being cheaper and card lots would certainly be hard to take into consideration and analyse from your data feeds.

Maybe you should have a small mission statement in your guide that outlines the magazines objective and summarises how you arrive at your pricing.

Keep up the great work the mag is great and excellent value.

i currently have Owens book/magazine and love it i also have the card zone book except the only downer i see with them is that they dont include tazos, tele cards, tags and whatever else otherwise they are great and Owens mag is definetely worth the little money you pay for it,

Its funny because in the very first price guide i did i had the prices at just ebay prices and everyone screamed at me they were to low.

You would be suprised how many people just hit buy it now (off people like rarecollectables) and pay overs for things but you cant just leave those results out brcause at the end of the day people are paying those prices.

I think it achieves its goal of providing a guide for people and my methodology is pretty close to Becketts. In saying that i do agree with your thoughts on the gems. A couple people bought a syack of them from cardzone at full price:confused:. They are on the radar though.
