Official 2011-2012 Playoff thread

Read previous post. Pittman foul was stupid. Haslem was good. I don't care and nobody does if Pittman gets suspended, he's a benchwarmer. In fact, I guarantee that he will get suspended for multiple games and I applaud that. Haslem shouldn't get suspended and neither should Tyler. Haslem sent a message to the Pacers team, message received loud and clear.

I did read your previous posts:
F##. I don't get it. When Blake gets smashed with hard fouls, the rest of the Clippers team gets crucified by the media for not standing up and sending a message to the opposing team. They say, "when your teammate gets hurt, you make sure the opponents know you got his back the next play". But when this happens, they blast Pittman and Haslem??? Come on, Tyler had it coming for him as does Danny Granger and Stephenson is a punk. No suspensions are warranted, take it as message sent and slap them on the wrist with a fine and flagrant 2.

You clearly said no suspensions are warranted! Hence my lack of comprehension for you viewpoint ;)

But at least you now agree with it being deserving of some time off:thumbsup:

NBA wants Pacers to beat Miami --- either that or they want to show everyone how good wade and bron can be with minimum supporting players.

Hansbrough should definetly been suspended and dealt with the same way as haslem.

Anyways... watch miami come out on game 6 and knock pacers off this playoffs... granger should let his basketball do the talking...

About your 3 points you make...Disagree, disagree and really hope not.

Firstly, the NBA knows that it has had enough bad press this year without going looking for more, so they gave a reasonably light sentence to Pittman, and were spot on with Haslem's 1 game suspension.

Secondly, Haslem was suspended not because of his foul being any harder than Hansbrough's, but because it was a retaliation foul. Hansbrough's foul on Wade was a hard playoff type foul, he started out getting alot of ball, but still worthy of the Flagrant 2 that it ended up at. But Haslem's foul on Hansbrough was not a real attempt at the ball, it was nothing more than payback, which is why he copped the higher penalty.

And lastly, seriously hoping that Granger summons the spirit of Reggie and hobbles around on his way to 30+, giving Pacers one last chance in Game 7, also giving Lebron James another chance to choke;).

the only thing i agree with is that pittman deserves his suspension for a silly foul that was never needed. haslem's im still not sure about.

the only person that is gonna choke is Larry Bird when he sees his Pacers get knocked out at home by a limited miami heat side. lebron will be getting over 40+ points again and silence the indiana crowd. there will be free Tissues to hand out to pacer fans during and after the game. Granger will be nothing like Reggie.

The NBA probably needs to change their rules on this one. If a players wins the Defensive Player of the Year award, he should have an automatic spot in the 1st team.

there is definetly something wrong there. how the **** can you be the NBA's Defensive player of the Year and not make the NBA 1st All Defensive Team.

I think the bigger point that has been missed is that noone, before the series began, expected Indy to take the Heat to 6! The tissues remark is silly IMO because even if they do lose, it is a huge effort on their part and should be celebrated!

Miami have underperformed when compared to expectations.

If Hansbrough's foul didnt happen, and Haslems was the first act of "violence" during the game, then his penalty would have been the same as Hansbrough's, being Flagrant 2, no suspension. It is the retaliation factor that the NBA hates to have seen, they worry about the players looking like thugs...then along comes Pittman lol.

Haha, I never get caught up in saying what is going to happen tomorrow, on the other side of the world, but I know that I hope your way off in your expectations.

Not a Big Miami Heat Fan... Just want to see Lebron get a ring... His had all this pressure of being great (which he is --- 3 NBA MVP's) and winning NBA championships since he was young and in High School... i would like to see LBJ and KD35 go at it for the NBA Championship.

Miami will Get the job done!

imo gotta say tylers foul was NOT a Flagrant just like taz_cards said he was going for a block wade pulls the ball away just before the hit, haslem - made no atempt at ball, pittman well we dont need an explination, you if tylers is a flagrent foul then haslems = flagrent 2 imo

I think you'll find that nearly everyone was saying Pacers would be Miami's hardest match up in the East were they not?

You're one-eyedness is shining brightly in this thread young padawan :p

So who's going to close out the Celts/Sixers series? Sixers may just hold them out, their D is pretty solid. Can the Celts pack enough fire power to get over the top of them?
