Official 2011-2012 Playoff thread

Basketball is a team sport. Miami is not winning because they have injured players and that is not an excuse but its reality. Its now the Pacer's series to lose same as when Rose went down, Philadelphia became the favorite to win that series. Alot of people hate Miami (Lebron) anyway so if Miami is losing like this, those haters are showing more fire in themselves and funny thing is, alot of them don't even know Lebron personally to have their kind of hate.

So maybe in this team sport of basketball, Miami may have wanted to get themselves a deep team instead of putting all of their eggs in the basket of 3 stars, because as soon as one goes down, the drop in talent is far higher than for a team like Indiana, Spurs or Thunder who all have quality depth.

Not sure I would liken Bosh going down to Rose being hurt, I think Chicago was worse off without last years league MVP than Miami is without Bosh. Its not like Bosh would have been able to defend Hibbert who is destroying the Heat down low.

I think I can safely say that none of us on this thread know Lebron personally, but all we have to go off are his actions over the last 7 or so years while he's been in NBA. Personally, I have never said that I hate Lebron, but I do say that in order to be classed as truly great, which is where Lebron puts himself, you have to win rings, usually more than one, and this means making your teammates better and making the right plays at the right time, two things that Lebron has shown himself unable to do consistently during his career.

Heres an interesting playoff only clutch chart since 2000, but Lebron isn't clutch and has no killer instinct ;)

And this again proves why these sorts of "stats", that are made up by people with nothing better to do and clutching at straws for an excuse, mean sweet F.A at the end of the day... Where has Lebron's "Clutchness" got him...? Absolutly fking NOWHERE!

Just to reiterate, Im not a Lebron hater, Im also not a massive fan, but I certainly give props were props are due, and as a player he is athletically, and only athletically so far, one of the best players to ever play the game... Until he can come through when it really, really matters, like MJ, Kobe, Russell, Kareem, Shaq etc etc then his name doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breathe!

Like a lot of Spurs fans say, the rings matter more then the individual awards!!! Im sure Lebron would trade all 3 of his MVP's, of the REGULAR season, in for 1 Championship Ring!!

The misconceptions about his clutchness are ridiculous. Pretty sure most of the guys who see him as a choker have only watched him since he joined Miami.

It started way before Miami, I would love to see those stats broken down again into elimination games......

Lebron has achieved NOTHING in the Post season, simple as that!

Neither of them are all that deep, but the lakers have 2 giants and a guy called Kobe but think they are all on different pages at the minute. Be a better series Okc vs spurs and a cracker at that!!

Totally agree with you that he hasn't got that to the level of those guys, until he wins a ring or 5 he can't be compared BUT the stats dont lie!! All the sh!t talk about him not being clutch is just that...sh!t talk! I've never compared him to MJ/Kobe or any other legends of the game just defended him against nonsensical haterism's

IMO Wade is a cancer on the Heat team as it is, he's blown more games through his garbage shots and Spo is as much to blame for the garbage plays he keeps putting on for Wade in the closing stages of games. If Spo writes up plays for Lebron (or just tells Lebron to go out there and do his thing) the Heat win more games then they do with Wade having the last shot.
As i've said before until the Heat get a seasoned coach who can control egos like which are in Miami they will always come up short.

Ate you kidding me, Lebro clutch?? Funny!!!! He missed 3 free throws in the dying minutes the other day, charity stripe, it don't get any easier or more clutch... As I always say numbers don't mean everything.

But i do agree with You His Free Throw shooting isn't the best for such a good player!

As for the coaching, same thing was happening in Cleveland, it's about winning and the ability to get if done, I take a guy from my team Manu for an example, his career stats won't even be close to others but he makes plays and shot when needed and it's ALL about success..

I'm not trying to say Lebro is terrible I would like
To make that clear, he has gifts that no one before him has had but he just can't transform that into W's, the day will come when he doesn't have that athleticism and he goes to the block which is where I believe he should live, mj did it, Kobe could a bit more if he didn't have two giants in the lane, I think we also forget that mj didn't start winnig rings till late 20's
At a guess, not sure how old Lebro is but hopefully his time will come.

Spo has a filthy man crush on Wade and will never give Lebron the reigns. If he did im absolutely sure we'd see a more dominant Heat team. Wont happen while Spo is still coach though he's Wades lap dog.

Put any other player in Lebrons position on the Cavs or Heat teams he's been in and see if they could do any better, i'll just leave it at that ;)

I'm kind of hoping the Lakers win game 4 tomorrow, I love watching long series, I hate seeing sweeps (only if it's Cleveland winning lol). And I must admit, I do have a soft spot for the Lakers, I've seen them play live, so I don't mind them! And I'm wearing a Kobe jersey as I type this haha

There is a HUGE difference in 'flops' mate. You can take a contact and make the impact look more than it was to attract attention to the foul WHICH WAS THERE. And to say that a Spurs fan shouldn't be able to call flop is extremely narrow minded. Show me ANY single team that doesn't do it?? EVERY team does it when they take a charge, so why is it different when Manu does it during a drive or switch movement or screen?? The contact IS there. If the team that gets the foul doesn't like it.... THEN DON"T MAKE THE CONTACT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

Of course every team does it from time to time, the Spurs just happen to have a collection of players who do it more than most! But, TBH, they don't seem to be as bad as they used to be; they do still have Manu though ;)

I have no problems with taking a charge as long as there is some contact, flopping on the other hand.......

That happens to almost every player from time to time.

Good to see LA put an end to all this sweep talk! They could have easily been up 2-1 at this stage.

And we were almost up 3-0 as well.
