Just a quick reminder of why you DONT use white envelope when sending.

Wet f*cking cards!! Thanks ebay jerk.

And here is why you use padded bags - completely soaked yet contents completely dry. Thanks OCT member for doing the right thing!!

i've been getting a few white envelopes lately. No horror stories as of yet thankfully!

I have no problem with commons in white envelopes (so long as they are in sleeves), but everything else definitely needs the padded bag, toploader, cardboard etc.

oh that sucks, kills me when i get these too, my mailbox is poorly designed and water sits in it quite deep when it rains. but i have been lucky so far with no cheapskates sending me anything on rainy days! have however had some soaked padded bags...with perfectly dry cards inside

Any quick bump for this thread given the current rain in NSW.

I got hit again yesterday. It was a Scanlens card sitting in a holder, not sealed at the top with no penny sleeve. Needless to say its currently drying out.

Make sure you follow the sending rules - this is one of the reasons they are there.

That sucks!!! So much for global warming....maybe you need to get a PO Box?

Using team bags also prevents cards getting wet - even if you conveniently "forgot" to use a padded bag!

I never send a card without a team bag, I highly recommend it to everyone sending cards and it doesn't cost much for a pack of these.

It provides ultimate protection from the elements.

I thought those tough bags are meant to be water proof? or is that a regular cardboard envelope, if soi didn't relaise they still made those.

In anycase, it doesnt cost much to protect a card.

Nah it was one of those CD holders which seem to be popular with some people on ebay. Totally made of cardboard.....

grrr... In this weather, I'm tempted to go penny-sleeve, toploader, team bag, alfoil wrapping, then bubble mailer to be sure.. In response to my 'Rare KG on the Bay...' thread, you could always write 1/1 sideways on the back of the cards and list them on ebay as 1/1s due to the rarity of the texture of the bottom of the cards, a new design the card manufacturers were trialling... this is of course not a serious suggestion :yellow:

I always send in a bubble mailer bag. You can pick up a box of 100 bubble mailers cheap on ebay. Need to order another box with all the trades i have been doing. Also team bags of 100 don't cost much.
