The NRL has fined four clubs for salary cap breaches. The Eels have been fined $80,366, Titans $41,200, Panthers $39,633, Raiders $5,358. Those teams are ranked 16th, 15th, 14th and 10th respectively. Not money well spent then.

These small breaches pop up every year. It's most likely to do with playing more players than budgeted for due to the amount of injuries throught the season or something else simple like that.

Pretty pathetic teams of that caliber get pinged.

Eels did not have that many injuries last year from memory - im not surprised they are over the cap with a $550K player playing park footy this weekend.

Paul Whatera didn't play a game, Carl Webb played half the season, Joel Reddy was out most of the season, Chris Walker barely played, Justin Poore played only a few games. That's 20% of the 25 man squad just off the top of my head. I'm sure there was some Hayne pain aswell!

I read that the eels will be appealing, the fine was from last year and was a result of away from home allowances for Webb and Walker.
