I am pretty much at a point where I won't be using eBay anymore.

I have been saving up for some time to buy a case, and was on the verge of getting a case of 2010/11 Ultimate Collection when dacardworld decided to bump up the price by like $350, which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion considering the product is now pretty old, doesnt contain any jeremy lin autos (lol), and there seems to be no logical reason for the price jump (none of the auto sets have increased in value to my knowledge). i think the redemptions are probably expiring about now too. anyway, i'm getting off topic...

So I'm left sitting there with my $800, and I decided to sit on it, maybe to put it towards a case of Fleer retro when they come out, or maybe something else will pop up.

Then I hear about the whole Leaf Best of Basketball thing, and I liked the concept (after seeing some case break results i'm not so sure now but thats another story lol) so I decided to throw out some offers to some sellers on ebay to see if I could get a case for as close to $800 as possible (most were selling for $900 after the first lot of orders sold out within hours).

Eventually I get a guy to accept, and I pay for it via credit card (through ebay checkout - he wouldnt accept paypal) on 21/03. He had solid feedback (only 1 negative in the last 6 mths and over 1500 positives) so I went for it.

The release date was 30/03, so I contact him on this date to see if he has the case in hand. He says he will be shipping it to me on Monday April 2nd. I am happy with this and request that he sends the tracking number (i paid extra to get global express mail).

Now the guy has gone awol and I'm left with no case. I have written him numerous ebay messages and gotten nothing back. same old sh*t.

I have just opened an ebay dispute, however, I have only ever done this before when i have used paypal to pay for the item not received.

How does it work with credit card refunds? Does ebay just shove the funds back on the card or do I have to get my bank involved? Seems like it is going to be harder than normal. I'm so sick of these losers. Do they really think they'll get away with it? AAARRGGHHHH

The seller's name is shopdiamondcardsonline.

avoid him at all costs. i should have known something was up when I saw that he doesnt take paypal but his communication was pretty good to start off with so I pulled the trigger.

never buying anything worth over $20 again on ebay.

rant over. if anyone has any information relating to CC refunds on ebay I would love to hear from you.

Cheers.

with solid feedback like that you wouldnt think hes scamming you. maybe he went away for easter? or i think auspost were either super busy or super slack over easter, because theres a couple of packages im waiting for that would usually turn up in a few days, but still havent arrived.

Try lodging a claim with your credit card company! Most offer buyer protection with the card! Can be a quicker and easier way to get your $$$ back. I think they will then chase up the seller or eBay for the funds!

Good luck

I would like to believe that, but the one time he actually responded to me he said something dodgy along the lines of 'i'll ship it on monday, i'm in hospital at the moment'.

some of you may think this is harsh and even a jaded view of the world, but there is absolutely nothing anyone could say to convince me that this guy was actually in hospital when he wrote that.

I will definitely do this if the ebay claim takes any longer than a normal paypal one. As it stands, the dude has until April 18 to respond or the case gets decided in my favour, so if that happens and they say there'll be some sort of delay in refunding me, I'll go to the bank. If matty83 is right and the money goes straight back onto my credit card on the 18th, then thats all good.

Serves me right for doing transactions outside OCT!!!

Shame to hear that! Hopefully you get it all worked out and you get your money back or even the case comes in the mail.

But with that feedback, it's intresting why you were the unlucky one?

just call your credit company and ask for a reverse charge based on fraud

they should reverse it for you no problems!
if you paid thru paypal (via CC), the credit card company would tell you to deal with paypal - so since you paid direct with your credit card it's their problem! :)

Unsure, but the exact same thing happened to me once before when I decided to buy a box of exquisite on ebay (back when they were about $700 each). The dude had excellent feedback and just never sent it and never responded at all once i had paid for it. Maybe people get desperate and list high-end items that they dont actually own when they are strapped for cash? gambling debt? I dont know. If you look at this guy's feedback, there's not many high priced transactions on there (mostly just $100 boxes etc).

He could have died for all i know, but i also know that this sort of crap doesnt ever happen when I deal with people outside of ebay.
