Not sure if this has been done yet, I checked the forum and couldn't find anything so thought I'd post.

It's almost crunch time in the NBA and I'm interested to know who you think will win the championship and why. Your prediction for the finals and a "dark horse" who could possibly come from nowhere.

Let's hear your thoughts!

I'm going with the Bulls and Spurs. I think the Bulls willbeat the Heat because of their depth. The Bulls just have so many players that can have great nights, I think it will be too much for the Heat. SA will beat OKC in the west because of their playoff experience and coach pop. The Spurs have been there so many times it's like second nature to them lol. I think the Bulls will win it all as younger legs will come up strong.

Dark house: Has to be Boston. The Celtics have just been winning and playing great basketball as of late and will come into the playoffs as a ball on fire and will be playing like the Celtics title team back in 08.

I do agree with you on the celtics. But I just feel that Lebron with Wade(if fit) and Durant with Westbrook can carry their teams all the way. The thunder did surprisingly well last playoffs only to be outclassed by an unstoppable Dallas so they would have learned from that. Wade has been there and done that and lebron ffs to get some of the haters off his back he's gotta get himself a ring, so there's gotta be some drive and passion there for him.

As for a dark horse if you can call them that? The lakers? They look alot more organized and smooth since session has been there.

I don't think 2-player tandoms will be able to take out great teams like the Bulls and Spurs

Great thread. So tough to decide.

As much as I'm hoping it's the Bulls in the East, I still think Miami are in 1st maybe 2nd gear and are just cruising.Bulls and Celts are better teams overall, but Miami have Lebron and Wade. Think how easy they did it last year in getting to the finals in just their first year together. I do hope I'm wrong.

Obviously I'm hoping the Spurs, but if not them then OKC are certainly the team to beat. They do have weaknesses though.

Darkhorse is definately Memphis. They are tough and have ALOT to like plus a little bit of x factor about them.

The Lakers will still be tough to beat. Looking like a Spurs/Lakers match up in the semis (I hope) which would be a great series.

Smart money is on Heat vs OKC

I'm hoping for Bulls/Celts vs Spurs:)

OKC will win the west, as long as they can get past memphis.
no other team in the west cant beat OKC over 7 games.

my dark horse comes from the west, in LA.
im just not sure which LA team yet.
the lakers are the lakers for a reason, the reason why im heasitant about the purple and yellow is that their bench, well they dont have a bench.
if they are to do well in the playoffs it has to be the kobe/bynum show. dont be surprised if kobe plays 44 mpg with 40-6-6.
the other side of LA is also a wildcard. the clippers have a strong core, but not enough to win series, or maybe?
if they turnup and get a favourable matchup in the 1st and 2nd rounds, who know?

you cant call the spurs a dark horse, they are a ligitimate contender.
they should meet the spurs in the west finals.

in the east anyone that says the celtics needs to be addmitted. absolutely no chance. they are terrible at best.
east will be out of miami and chicago. with rose a bit banged up and lebron in beast mode, you cant not say miami.

so the finals will be out of OKC and miami. if OKC cant get a home court finals, i pick them. they will be able to go home at 1-1 with an advantage.
if westy plays strong, they will win as most other matchups are relatively equal. maimi are not a jumpshooting team. ibaka and perkins control the paint quite well, if they can stay outta foul trouble there is no reason why OKC cant beat miami in 5 or 6.

so im picking OKC to win it all.

I'm going with Boston.
Last hurrah, experience, playing good at the right time of year, playoffs are a different animal than this crazy compacted season etc etc.

Dark horse - Spurs. Don't get talked about much, flying under the radar somehow????? Did it last lockout shortened season, could be a tradition huh? Lol.

Looks like you need to be admitted Matt!

In the East I think the Dark horse will be the Celtics, Rondo whether you like him or not is a legit contender in the MVP conversation, they also got the experience when it comes to playoff basketball just hope they haven't turned it on too soon, they been playing awesome of late

The Bulls have so much depth it's not silly, I won't be surprised if it's a repeat of last years Conference Finals, The Heat could go all the way if LeBron's ego doesn't get the better of him, that too and the fact the guy chokes and quits when it comes to the Finals

That pretty much covers the East, don't really think the other teams stand too much of a chance to make it past the 2nd round

In the West I think the LA Lakers are the Darkhorse, the key factor is Ramon Sessions at point and whether he's had enough time to adjust to Lakers Basketball, Pau Gasol if he decides to turn up and play is going to be crucial, if he throws in the towel like last year then I think LA need to trade him, he's slowly turning into the new Shawn Bradley (gets paid to get dunked on), No doubt Kobe is gonna turn up and turn it on, some of his best basketball is played during the post season, and the the way Drew has been playing of late has cemented his All-Star status, one thing I'm gonna miss though is Fish when it comes to the playoffs other then Kobe nobody else is willng to take the big shots when the games on the line

OKC have definately got what it takes to go all the way, I wouldn't write of the Spurs, though when it comes to the younger teams they just seem to get left behind, they play real fundamental basketball which is consistent, though when faced with a team that plays run and gun they just don't seem to be able to keep up

LA Clips as much as I love watching them play just don't think they got what it takes to get past the 2nd round, Memphis is going to be exciting to watch, there fans are like the Sacramento fans of old, can't write of Dallas either though they haven't got as much depth as they had last year

OKC vs Bulls in the Finals

but what I'd love to see is LA Lakers vs Celtics in the Finals, the rivalry is EPIC

Spurs up 2-1 over OKC this season????

Would love it if the standings stayed as is right now.

Could OKC really get past Dallas, then Lakers, then Spurs???

Surely one of those veteran teams would beat them?
