The Offical 2011-12 NJ Nets thread

THAT's the Lopez I like to see!!!! :D

Now that Lopez seems to be back in form we may be able to make a run for the Playoffs..... good win today, but didn't like how we finished it; coulda easily lost it.

Gerald Green looked awesome out there, has a nice shot on him, no problems penetrating into the paint and got a nice oop from Gaines! Hope he keeps it up and we have another player on our hands!

Anyway....... 1-0 after the ASB. :D

Did you hear one of the commentators? "He's playing like he wants to be traded to Orlando!" lol

Green played solid, wasnt expecting Avery to play him in the first Q!

Brook Lopez looked great out there, had it all rolling.

Lopez is suddenly turning in Bynum after being rock-solid his first few years.

As noted Monday, Brook Lopez is set to be out for the next three weeks due a sprained right ankle.
But according to Colin Stephenson of The Star-Ledger, Nets GM Billy King "said the team is being cautious with Lopez and considered shutting him down for the entire season."
Said King: "He's not going to be out for the rest of the year but at three weeks, if he still have a little soreness in the ankle, we're going to hold him out. Because my main concern is about Brook Lopez, going forward at 23 years old. We want him as healthy as possible.''
Lopez broke a bone in that same right foot that kept him out for a while at the beginning of the season, so it would make sense that the team is being cautious.
Such news here would seem to indicate that though Lopez is slated to be out for three weeks, it's within the realm of possibility he's going to be out longer.
Which means Mehmet Okur -- once back from injury -- and Johan Petro will be shouldering the load at center until Lopez is good to go.

UPDATE: Wrote Fred Kerber of the New York Post: "There is the sense if by Thursday's deadline [the Nets] have improved in the standings, they could be buyers for an expiring contract. Beasley has been mentioned and the Nets have spoken with the Timberwolves. Beasley is a young talent, has a $6.2 million expiring contract and is represented by Jeff Schwartz, who is also Deron Williams' agent. So an initial courtesy call may have turned into interest."

Hmmmmmm....... cap space deal yeah, but don't we already have enough cap space open next year as it is? As for Beasley himself; not a big fan of his game TBH.

Two great moves, G Force helps anyteam.. he is plain and simple a beast all over the court.. and signing Green is a no brainer, he has improved so much.

Hard watching Marsh struggle on offence at the moment, hope he finds his rhythm soon.

Just wanna give props to DWill and his 20 dimes the other day. Also to Green, they had him in at crunch time in the same game and DWill went to him twice and he delivered both times!
