beckett grading services submission

I never do this grading stuff....you never know if the cards gets lost or damaged, even stolen, you may never see it again!! It would be awesome if you could go somewhere and it's in-person grading, so you can see how it happens!!

You can do something called a BGS raw grade in the states. Beckett sends a rep to a card show and they grade it in person. You don't get the good looking case though, just a team bag with a grade.

That's pretty cool....but the case is sort of makes it look cool, haha. I'm happy with magentic one touches :)

I just got my first BGS slabbed card in today. I have to admit, protection wise you can't get much better and they look great. I would take the risk in getting my cards graded.

I guess I could take the risk for some cards....but not my best cards, if I were to lose them, SH!T would go down haha

On BO there was a thread about a guy with a raw grade of 9.5 that came back lower than that, so it's not really worthwhile unless you're going to get it graded there and then and in person...

BGS are a sham company. I wouldn't send anything to them if I were you, though the cases are good protection and you can't deny that they do sell better.

Having done like 5 submissions on my own - if you are going to submit on your own, go Express Courier International and aim to hit below AUD$1000 or get pinged by customs (well you can tell Beckett how much insurance you want to buy).

To each their own between PSA or BGS - I don't need to buy a membership with Beckett, I think you have to with PSA.

The grades come and go, I suggest you buy a jewellers loop or magnifying glass to look at your cards before submission. Obviously the grading companies have better equipment!

And also - it is business days not calendar days so if you choose 20 days service - that will be like 1 month excluding the weekends!
