2011/12 Australian Summer Of Cricket (*SPOILERS*)

I just got back from a day at the G...yep the SCG...and it was tops.

Wickets aplenty and then some stubborn resistance.

Our three fast bowlers are amazing when you see them live. Can't wait to see Cummins in too. Watson (as much I can't believe I'm saying this) needs to get back in this side. Between Hughes, Warner, Marsh and Kawaja...I don't know how so much potential can be squandered. Or maybe this is the future of batting...which I doubt as tailenders can be stoutly resolute in their defences. Hell, my 2 1/2 year old has a mantra: block the good ball, put the bad ball away for four. Warner was just so disappointing and Marsh...well...I had high, high hopes for him. Dunno whats going on there, but Kerry O'Keefe seems on the money with his beliefs.

And is it me, or is India the laziest fielding team in world cricket? Hell, even the 12th man dashed and collected about 2-3 4's that went over the rope and tossed them back while the fielder stood stone still 20m away. Ponting and Clarke were carving em up in the last 45 mins...the Indians were that lacklustre. And I hope Punter does well. Would be nice to see him get a ton after the exulted one missed out.

Plus, having read all these fresh posts today, I agree with one thing: Cameron White is rubbish.

Twas a marvellous day, yeah.

My missus and I were in Bay 14. Blue sky, no clouds, green grass, gentle zephyr...Test match Cricket at the SCG...nothing beats that feeling of pure bliss summer.
 
Well Done to Clarke for getting his 100. But Ricky Ponting is doing great on his way to a Great 100. Number 40 That would be :)
 
massive innings from Sir Ricky. this will shut up his critics for a week or two atleast. he is one of the greatest modern players in cricket, what a legend.

The only downside to the success of Punter and Pup will be the grovelling "apology" from Malcom Conn and Robert Craddock in the News Limited papers tomorrow.

You forgot there elderly team mate, that's too old and past it has just knocked up his half century too. How'd the young blokes go?
 
I for one don't rate Clarke as a great player but he certainly deserves his spot and he handles the Captaincy well.

Congrats to him and Punter for two great Innings....I hope Clarke can go on and make 300+
