/\/\ it doesnt really matter exactly how he said it. theyre still trying to push the whole 'cultural misunderstanding' thing, which really has nothing to do with it. personally, i doubt hes a racist, but he wasnt banned for being a racist he was banned for reffering to another player by the color of their skin. which he admits he did. the word negro, negros, negrito or any variation in any language has no place on a football field. end of discussion.
on top of which, even suarez didnt deny the translation. in fact he repeated it, the same way, during the hearing.
when will the scousers just let it be, move on and put the whole thing behind them?
i really, really want podolski @ arsenal.

/\/\ personally i think hed give RVP a run for his money after he settled. very talented man. hope it happens in jan, but if not, end of the season is fine too. would be wengers best buy in a while i think.

bradley johnson hits back at barton after his 'headbut'. fair enough it doesnt look like he did anything wrong, but i think he may get into some trouble for hi numerous twitter posts...finally.

so after all the bull sh!t LFC spouted about backing suarez, they will NOT appeal the ban. they must really have faith in their story. how pathetic.
suarez still rabbiting on about how negro is not disrespectful in his country. youre in england now retard.

brilliant. just. so. happy...
and tim howard?! just watched a quick clip of the goal. talk about...i cant even think of an apt adjective.

No Liverpool just know we will get bent over again and again and there is no way of winning it. The FA are a joke and people are too precious these days. There are so many cultural inequalities these days is laughable. Bet you if Evra called Gerrard white of whitey it wouldn't get a second look.

/\/\ theres no way of winning it because technically he broke the rules...why cant scousers realise that? it dont mean hes a racist. only that he broke the rules.
theres just no need to bring up skin color during a match. stopping even the use of certain words, no matter the inflection, can only help overall.

cabayes goal was nice, but its the freak factor of howrds goal that makes it so interesting...

I think its pretty well established in the western world that calling someone "blackie" is derogatory.

Try all you like you just cant defend that sort of conduct.

So even though it was established he isn't a racist and it wasn't a racist remark he still gets 8 weeks............. give me a break. I know there is no way around it and he will have to serve the 8 weeks but it doesn't mean I have to agree with it or like it.

Lets just hope when the shoe is on the other foot its treated the same way.

^^Go and say some of this to a black guy and see if you still think its okay afterwards.

the FA released its report on the suarez/evra situation.
heres the main bit that sunk suarez:

"Our findings of fact which are directly relevant to the Charge are as follows: (1) In response to Mr Evra's question 'F*****g hell, why did you kick me,' Mr Suarez said 'Because you are black'.

"(2) In response to Mr Evra's comment 'Say it to me again, I'm going to punch you,' Mr Suarez said 'I don't speak to blacks'.

"(3) In response to Mr Evra's comment: 'Okay, now I think I'm going to punch you,' Mr Suarez said 'Okay, blackie, blackie, blackie'."

incredible. i retract my previous POV. 8 games wasnt too many. probably not enough.

sorry rishgoon. happy new year aswell. didnt mean to ignore your cheerful greeting.
united deserved to go down in that game. fergie thinks he can put any suckers in his line-up and win.

are you against the ban or the length of the ban? because i initially thought 8 weeks was harsh aswell. but i suppose theyre trying to send a message. i wont judge the FA on this until i see what they do with a more blatant case. this is the first time a bans been given for this in england, so its hard to judge whether it was harsh or not. nothing to compare it to. itll be interesting to see what happens with terry, and any future cases. only time will tell if suarez was given a raw deal...

Suarez says Sorry

Sorry Owen
What you quoted was NEVER said by Suarez, he spoke to him in Spanish....

Part of Suarez apology
""Like many of you I was born into a very humble family, in a working class neighbourhood, in a small country. But I was born and raised learning what respect, manners and sacrifice mean. Thanks to my family, from my first club where I started playing, to my transfer to Holland in Europe, I learned the values which made me the person I am now. Never, I repeat, never, have I had any racial problem with a team mate or individual who was of a different race or colour to mine. Never.

"I am very upset by all the things which have been said during the last few weeks about me, all of them being very far from the truth. But above all, I'm very upset at feeling so powerless whilst being accused of something which I did not, nor would not, ever do.

"In my country, 'negro' is a word we use commonly, a word which doesn't show any lack of respect and is even less so a form of racist abuse. Based on this, everything which has been said so far is totally false."

I admitted to the (English Football Association) commission that I said a word in Spanish once, and only once and I told the panel members that I will not use it again on a football pitch in England,' Suarez said on Wednesday in a statement provided by Liverpool. 'I never, ever used this word in a derogatory way and if it offends anyone then I want to apologise for that.'

I dont really believe a word he says AY - and the FA found him an "unreliable" witness. Go back and look at the footage - he was hardly trying to be endearing to Evra. Whether it was blackie or negro its still offensive.
