Holiday getaway ~ Canberra & South Coast-accomodations ideas ?

Hi All,
Looking to get away with the family , wife & 2 kids (Late Jan/Early Feb) - Anyone recommend any Hotel/resorts ?
All this info is on the net of course, was moreso interested to hear from anyone - 1st hand experiences - places they had stayed/enjoyed or other

Drive down to Canberra - 2 days - see some of the sights , then across to South Coast 2-3 days (Batemans Bay or surrounding area), poolside-beach side & chill..

Would prefer Hotel/resort style accommodation (check-in/check out - eat out surrounding restaurants) *not interested in self contained

Any feedback would be appreciated

Had a friend stay there recently, loved it and the fishing was good and there were things to do for the kids!

Not sure about the south coast, but Canberra's pretty good. there's a hotel down here in Belconnen - nice and ritzy - that is literally walking distance to the fresh food markets. Plus Westfields is ten minutes walk down the road - i'm sure the missus would love that!!!

if going through Nowra eat at the Nowra RSL $19 all you can eat great value unless your'e a Vegan
