well after 10 years and 950 transactions i have my first ebay problem.on the 8th of december i sold a nrl card.i was paid through paypal on the 9th of december and card was sent in a postpack on the 12th of december {the first working day after i was paid}.anyway the buyer emails me today the 16th of december and claims after nearly 2 weeks card has not arrived really 8 days which includes a weekend as well.so i politely email back the details and ask for a break as i stipulate aus post would be overwehelmed at the moment.so the buyer then opens a dispute through paypal claiming they haven't received the card so it looks like i have lost a grand total of $8.50.anyway people i'm just wondering how nasty i should be with the negative feedback as i have never left it.

The same thing happened to me the other week (except for the opened case). I just refunded and copped it on the chin. The buyer was also happy to cop the loss but I don't want anyone losing confidence in something I sell. After the fact it happened to be someone I have met through this site. Not worth getting nasty over IMO

Unfortunately I have a similar story. Guy opened a paypal case against me 5 days after he paid for the item. That was after he stalled paying me for 2 weeks and i opened an unpaid item case against him. Its BS this system.

I have sold only 66 ebay items. Usually when i buy, receive cards in white envelope, sometimes wait 2 to three weeks and still leave pos fdbck.
When i sell, post in top loader, seal top with electrical tape, cover both sides with strong cardboard and wrap up with more electrical tape and insert into bubble mailer. By this time i usually thank for purchase, wait 5 days to remind buyer to pay for the "buy now" item. Pm postage done. 2 or occassinally three days if bank deposit.....and one dude gives a rating of 3 out of 5 on multiple items giving me a average of 4.8 to 4.5... not a fan of Ozcarder i suspect... or i may have to cut back on the duct tape wrestle. :D

it is so stupid. You would think paypal recognised it is Christmas time. At least wait the full 40day period and ask the buyer if he got it yet before refunding.

I liked the eBay system before it went into all "For the buyer" mode.. Don't get me wrong.. It works in my favour as I am usually always a buyer.. So I don't have to worry........ I have only ever left neg feedback once.. And man he deserved it!!.. I gave him a full 90 days (That's how long it was back then).. No response.. No refund.. Negative..

These days.. I send everything the same day/ day after sale.. Always REGISTERED so it's not my problem after that.. Email the buyer that it has been shipped and send over the REG number that they can use to track the item.. Although.. I must admit.. I still get nervous awaiting the feedback....... In the shipping part you can add the registered post part as required.. That way there's none of that "I don't want registered".. You either take the item registered or you don't buy it at all.. And I ALWAYS make my auctions immediate payment required via paypal (auction doesn't end until payment has been paid).. No hassles then.. No chasing.. And.. You know they are serious about the item.. No backing out..

i have brought a few cards and told the seller not to worry about sending asap as i know Aus post are in high demand at the moment. Also if any one saw today a aus post truck caught fire in northern NSW. Going to be alot of sad people at xmas.

Any other time of the year i give the person 2 weeks then email them. After 2 emails if i don't hear anything then i put a claim up on ebay.

We make sure everything is regsitered when the invoice comes to about $50 or more just be on the safe side.

With this guy and his $8.50 I would be responding to the claim he put in and explain it was only sent so many days ago just after payment came through. If this fails probably just cut your loses.

well the item didn't show and the buyer has now left me negative feedback blemishing my clean record after nearly 10 years.she called me a bad ebayer etc when it was'nt me who didn't pay for registered post etc.more than happy to refund the grand total of $8.50 but the .......... can wait.

dont worry mate, you still got heaps of good feedback. i used to worry about my feedback on ebay too but realised that 1) if someone wants to be unreasonable, they can be and thats not your problem and 2) some aspects of the ebay system are just s**t. but hopefully at the end of the day half-intelligent ebayers will see all your good feedback and you'll continue happy trading on ebay

Don't worry about it, you can't please everyone

I received negative feedback recently because this guy thought my book was a piece of crap. I told him send it back and I will give you a full refund. After several demoralising emails of how bad he thought my book was he left negative feedback and didn't bother sending the book back.

Dan , bro you know that was me and i said to you from the start that i was not happy with your book because it has almost every signature card missing from the Dynamic early days in which was the only reason why i brought this book in the first place!!!!.... I ended up keeping the book because it was going to be a waste of time and money sending it back as it was fairly cheap to buy in the first place.... Then after 4 weeks i did not leave you negative feedback because i wanted to keep the peice between us , but my girlfriend had known what had happened and one night she was online and she left that feedback because even she was pissed off with your book , not me bro.... I could not then reverse this unless you contacted Ebay in which they can then take it off if both parties have agreed to this , in which i told you in a email.... So dont feed everyone crap about me leaving you bad feedback as you knew that after it was left all you had to do was contact Ebay and i would have said yes to reversing it for you , Steve

I offered you a refund, what else do you want. You don't like the book big deal. Thats your opinion and thats all it is thats why it isn't important to me because you are insignificant to me.

The book wasn't about the dynamic early days signature cards it was a comprehensive guide which it is.

I have recived numerous emails from collectors who know a lot more than me about card sets I have missed in the book over the years and mind you these emails were polite.

I am not feeding people crap, you did leave me bad feedback, along with a number of crappy emails. Why should I have to contact ebay to reverse it, I have better things to do with my time.

Well stop complaining then!!!!.... If you didnt want bad feeback like i said all you had to do was contact Ebay and i also said that i would help you in reversing it for you !!!!.... Bro to be honest with you i really dont care as well because in my early messages i was polite to you but you keep raving on about how you know everything about Rugby League cards and that your book was complete "TO YOUR KNOWLEDGE".... I then disagreed with you because you had missed lots of cards???? So lets just leave it at that as i do not want to start anything on this website , cheers
