How good was that? Hopefully the results continue into the new year. Interesting Arsenal team. Arshavin comes in for Gervinho. AA23 looked alright when he came on against Wolves, but thats pretty rare for him this season. 4-1 Arsenal. 2-1 Swansea. :D

/\/\ great start to a new year. not a bad game to watch either. half the rovers team was under 22...
should bite the bullet on arshavin. hasnt done much in a couple of years.

Happy new year everyone - a very bloody happy one. I woke up to see whether Utd had put 4 or 5 or more past Blackburn - amazing - then Villa thump Chlsea away! AND STEPHEN IRELAND SCORES! Well done mate!!!

Just watching the Blackburn game - United might get away with playing Valencia at right back vs the likes of Wigan, but not against strong teams like Blackburn, no wait.......what?
 
the FA released its report on the suarez/evra situation.
heres the main bit that sunk suarez:

"Our findings of fact which are directly relevant to the Charge are as follows: (1) In response to Mr Evra's question 'F*****g hell, why did you kick me,' Mr Suarez said 'Because you are black'.

"(2) In response to Mr Evra's comment 'Say it to me again, I'm going to punch you,' Mr Suarez said 'I don't speak to blacks'.

"(3) In response to Mr Evra's comment: 'Okay, now I think I'm going to punch you,' Mr Suarez said 'Okay, blackie, blackie, blackie'."

incredible. i retract my previous POV. 8 games wasnt too many. probably not enough.

united deserved to go down in that game. fergie thinks he can put any suckers in his line-up and win.

So when does Suarez get charged by the cops? Makes Terrys alleged comments look like nothing conpared to this.

Have u got a link to that? I read via bbc's FA story he used the word negro several times - not this blackie stuff....
 
Whats to comment on, Blackie Blackie, Blackie?, not sure if you have an ethnic background or not, BUT trying to translate sentence's from one language to another doesn't always sound or have the same tone in another, so he never said Blackie , Blackie, Blackie,he said Suarez who in turn replied: "Dale, negro, negro, negro.' [the Commission translated this as: 'okay, blackie, blackie, blackie'].
 
I'm getting plenty of comment on twitter from a Suarez backer - dude needs to read this FA statement and come back again cos he's pretty much admitted to this but Pool fans keep coming back to cultural misunderstang etc etc..... it's bollocks really.....

thats why i wanted to hear a comment, because it seems scouser fans are still sticking up for him. the point is, no matter what it means in s.america, he shouldnt have used it. he would know this from his time in the dutch leagues.
and i still find it hard to believe that in the heat of an arguement he used the term in a friendly way.
read the whole FA statement. they brought in specialists that admit, under the circumstances, even in uruguay, this would be considered racial.
PS. i am from an ethnic background and realise that translating directly can be difficult/impossible. but im also very well travelled and realise that you have to be careful in foriegn countries. i.e the use of the word paki in the UK is derogatory. does that mean when im in the UK i can use the word because it doesnt have the same impact in my country?

EDIT: platini has all but scrapped video technology from european football. in my opinion, this is good.
 
There is just no defending the undefendable. What a grub. Liverpool need to shut the hell up. I wish Evra punched him out.

yes it does. we're all ethnic. i think he means from a different ethnic background tho. as in different from suarez. either way, it dont matter.
