Big price for the 88-89 set??

Can't see who the bidders were on this so makes it hard to validate the price, but my thoughts are this is a very high finish - has it been a while since a full set was up for auction?

seems rather much, I would be tempted if someone wanted to give me that much for my set. LOL

Agreed - seems unusually high although as you say, I haven't seen a full set on there for a while either. I got mine for a touch under $100 about 2yrs ago now.

Okay - i can shed some light here. I was the losing bidder.....

It was the last day at work for the year for me and i had a few drinks and me and the other bidder where online at the same time. I was happy to pay up to $125 but once it got above that mark it was just ego.

At the time I was pretty sure that he had put in a bid up to $250 so i deliberately pushed him with my final bid $249. Lucky guess.

I will be interested to see if he pays up.
