i know these boards are predominantly Aussie Rules supporters, but for interest sake i thought i might post the teams that were announced today for Game 1 in Sydney on May 24.

I think QLD will win and although I am a AFL supporter born & bred I do live in NSW so C'mon the Blues !!!

agreed!! inglis is a freak, and he's only 19 too :shock: thank god he is a maroon!! :cool:
but i think NSW halves may be their archilles heel?!? yeah, they are 2 good players, but Anasta is playing with no form and by the time origin 1 comes around he wont have played a game in over 17-18 days!! plus gower is still playing with that injury and possibly isn't 100% too!!

but in saying that, the maroons forward pack second row is untested, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it!!
i think with big Mal at the helm and with all the ex origin greats as specialist coaches, i think the maroons can finally come away with a series win!!

Whitewash to the maroons is my pick ;)
 
I'm a NSW fan however I get the feeling that the dirty stinking cane toads will get the series this year.

I'm afraid I have to agree! So if the toads do lose the series it will be entertaining to hear the excuses they come up with :p

For the first time in a long time, the QLD halves are better on paper than the NSW guys.

Should be a great series. Its a real pity Johns isnt playing, he would have been the difference.

17-16 what a match!!

Thank goodness we won, otherwise Buderus would have been stoned to death.

NSW hasnt lost at Telstra Stadium. Cant wait for game 2!

I counter that with it is a pity Barrett isn't playing....

normally I go for the Maroons.... but since Gasnier is playing for the Blues... I'm cheering on the blues and glad they won....

Did Gasnier score by any chance?
 
Stae of O is pretty big in NZ. I remember when i was at varsity we used to head down to the local and you would part company with yr mates and the whole bar would b segregated blues on one side and maroons on the other and it'd go off!! Crazy really but a great memory!!
Personally I'm a blues fan and watched the game till 12 last night - will be dog tucker at work today - anyone wanna teach my kids for me???
 
yeah! what a game! right down to the wire! a kiwi journalist wrote that NSW will win - thrash the maroons! My ass I said right there to my girl.. those games are always close no matter what except in dead rubbers mainly. BINGO! Come on BLUES!!!! What is the latest on Gasnier's contract waggles?
