Well thought i would start something new and fresh and would like to see peoples favourite albums. You can list 10 or 15, you can also comment on the album.

Heres my list, 10 is too small for me so i went 5 more. :)

1. Metallica - And Justice for All... (The Lyrics to every song on this album is better than any other. This album also has imo the best rock song ever written One)
2. Metallica - Master of Puppets (metallica's third album and their last with bassman cliff burton. Includes Metallica classics, "Master of Puppets, Battery, Damage Inc.)
3. Pantera - Cowboys from Hell (One of the greatest Heavy Metal Albums of all time, this album was Pantera's first and best and is owned by most metal lovers)
4. Metallica - Black (Metallica's most succesfull album selling over 13 million copys, considered by many as one of the best rock albums of all time)
5. Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper (This is the 3rd album from this death metal group from finland and easily their best, with 2 big singles "Hate Me and Everytime I Die"
6. Slipknot - Vol 3: The Subliminal Verses (Their latest and greatest album which won several awards including heavy metal album of the year, this album is a masterpiece from start to finish)
7. Slayer - Reign In Blood (Considered to be the Best Thrash metal album of all time! Also on this album is their best and most acclamined song Raining Blood
8. Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power (Pantera's second album. This album has many classics that never grow old such as, "Cementary Gates, Walk, Hollow, Mouth for War)
9. Metallica - Ride the Lighning (A very deep album that shows a different side of metallica with the inclusion of their first succesful rock ballad "Fade to Black")
10. Butterfly Effect - Begins Here (This Brisbane four piece's first album to date and is a very unique and well done rock album. With singles "Always, Beautiful Mind, Crave and One second of Sanity", this album does not let up for one second.)
11. Metallica - Kill "em' All (metallica's first album and possibly the hardest. Very thrash, garage sound to this album with timeless classics like "four horsemen, no remorse, seek and destroy among others)
12. Megadeth - Rust in Peace (Dave Mustaine's 'Megadeth' endured hard time's over their still ongoing career but they can hang their heads up high with the release of this album. The song Holy Wars is a classic and perhaps their best song they have written.)
13. Silverchair - Frogstomp (An Australian band that really hit the International scence with the release of their first album Frogstomp, Their hardest album consists of hits "Tommorrow, Pure Massacre, Israel's Son and Sucidal Dream")
14. Killswitch Engage - The End of Heartache (such a kick ass album, with the change in lineup, howard Jones defiantly brings something new and equally as good as what people saw from their first real big album 'alive and just breathing'. The end of heartache is an amazing listen with many tempo and vocal changes. Their two singles from this album, Rose of Sharyn and the End of Heartache are brilliant tracks.)
15. Children of Bodom - Hate Crew Deathroll (Bodom's 4th album, this album delivered metal lovers tracks such as ' Neeedled 24/7, Sixpounder and Bodom Beach Terror', and is a really good complete album.

Well that is my list ;) , a little one-wayed in terms of genre but i ensure Metal is not all i listen too. I own all these albums and many more including like 15 dvds.

if you are bothered ;) to do something like ive done, id enjoy to read into on what people listen to and like and see the contrast between each others taste.

rock on and im out.

some nice choices in there metallica.

Heres my top 10 metal/hard rock albums. i cant be buggered putting in order of preference, theyre all good for different reasons.

1) PANTERA: Vulgar Display of Power
Well Dime is my fave guitarist of all time, so this one had to go on top. theres just moments on this that still give me the shivers down the spine, even after hearing them a 100 times. Dime just had this groove to his playing that is almost impossible to replicate.

2) LAMB OF GOD: Ashes of the Wake
The best metal band ive discovered in the last 5 years. Gotta say the vocal style is not to my taste, but the guitar is friggin sublime. probably the best metal drumming ive heard for ages too, doesnt rely on the double kick 'machine gun' sound that too many metal drummers abuse. they are probably the tightest metal band ive ever heard, just a well oiled machine of aggression and artistry. the title track is also the best metal instrumental ever as well.

3) METALLICA
I cannot pick a clear winner between And Justice For All, Black album, and Master of Puppets. too hard. songs like One, Master of Puppets, Sanitarium, Enter Sandman were the foundation of my teenage years.

ill list the rest later, gotta have some dinner.

1) Korn - Follow the leader... some excellent songs, and easily my fav album ever - Got the life / Dead Bodies Everywhere / Freak On A Leash

2) Metallica - S&M - What a great mix of talent right there.. Loved every second of it - One / Enter Sandman / Until It Sleeps the list goes on

3) 2PAC - Tossup between Greatest Hits and All Eyez On Me!!

4) 2PAC - As above

5) Foo Fighters - Greatest Hits - Ask no questions, one of the greatest bands around

5) Cold Play - Can't choose an album, they're all good

6) Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle - What a great album, a bit of everyone starred in this release , the Dogg Pound / Warren G / Dr Dre / Nate Dogg

7) Guns 'N' Roses - Use your illusion II - Cmon, another early 90's release, i'm sure you all loved "You could be mine" , "November Rain" etc etc.. great album

8) Linkin Park - Meteora/Hybrid Theory - Cannot decide which one I liked more, both where pretty awesome ,I even liked the collision course.. hmmm tough tough tough

9) Keith Sweat - Keith Sweat - One of my fav albums of all time.. some real nice songs in there.. will always be rated

10) Adam Sandler - They're all gonna laugh at you - This is some funny $hit right here, honest this guy is the king.. + I was scraping for another album to put down...

So there it is...

2) LAMB OF GOD: Ashes of the Wake
The best metal band ive discovered in the last 5 years. Gotta say the vocal style is not to my taste, but the guitar is friggin sublime. probably the best metal drumming ive heard for ages too, doesnt rely on the double kick 'machine gun' sound that too many metal drummers abuse. they are probably the tightest metal band ive ever heard, just a well oiled machine of aggression and artistry. the title track is also the best metal instrumental ever as well.

man you could of not summed that one up any better, that narrowly misses my 15;) , my top 5 songs of theirs would be this,
1. laid to rest 2. now i got something to die for 3. faded line 4. hourglass 5. ashes of the wake

cant wait for the other 7, so far u got a killer list. :)

and WC, i like your variety, s and m is one of the best live concerts ever, you seen the dvd too? 99 and 2000 was probally tallica's best sounding year in terms of amps, and perfection. and 2pac, colplay, korn and foo fighters are all very nice too.

so far their some good lists

I'll do my top 5 for the moment....

1. 2Pac / Makaveli - The Don Killuminati - 7 Day Theory - His best album IMO. Best lyrics he's ever written. Classics songs.
2. 2Pac - All Eyez On Me - Great party songs here and also some emotional ones. Mix N match but it's a great album altogether.
3. Xzibit - Restless - I love this album of Mr X to the Z, Xzibit. His best album out of all of them. Althought Man Vs. Machine & At The Speed of Life are good too.
4. Bone Thugs N Harmony - E.1999 Eternal - What can I say? Simply a classic album...
5. Musiq Soulchild - Any of his released albums - All of his 3 albums are so good. I love his R&B style of music. Best R&B artist IMO!

Hopefully I can add Jamie Foxxx's new album in my list anytime soon....

oh man youd get along great with my older sis AJ, she's a full on hippy who loves all that female guitar pop stuff.

hehe, they might be giants, that reminded me of that song Dr Worm, abolsute classic.

I'll give this a try but its pretty tough. I'll have to do it in no particular order though.

*Millencolin, For Monkeys - These guys got me started on punk music and I have never looked back! 4 Swedes who rock out! Fast, slow, rock, and ska to boot in this one!
*No Use For A Name, Making Friends - One of my favourite bands since I heard this album, punk at it's fastest and catchiest!
*Korn, Life is Peachy, S/T, Follow The Leader - These rock, 'nuff said!
*Dr Dre/Snoop, Doggystyle/The Chronic - Gangsta rap when it was gangsta!
*NWA, Straight Outta Compton - The greatest rap supergroup ever!
*Greenday, Dookie/American Idiot - Started something, then finished it off 11 years later!
*Pennywise, About Time/Full Circle/Unknown Road - These guys could destroy politicians and any other officials with their flat out pace and lyrics! Took the youth of the world and gave them a voice to follow!
*NoFX, Punk In Drublic - Make music for their fans and thats it! Much respect to Fat Mike and the crew!
*Coheed & Cambria, In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth/Good Apollo I'm burning Star... - Rock that cannot be described or put into a category, taking rock to the boundaries with their music and Claudio's great vocals!
*Syustem Of A Down, Toxicity - These guys could make banging on pots sound good!

Well there it is, tryed to through a few different styles in there, others of notable mention, Thrice, Blink 182, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Jay-Z, Eminem, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chilli Peppers...

I saw the title, and only expected 10. When did it grow to Top 15???

Anyway, heres mine -

1 - Use Your Illusions 1 & 2 - Gunners (if they released it these days it'd be a double CD and not 2 individual releases)
2 - Scenes From A Memory - Dream Theatre
3 - S & M - Metallica (as a former orchestra dude, I love this stuff. The Houston Orchestra did an Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train rendition for the Western All-Stars introduction).
4 - Dark Side Of The Moon - Pink Floyd
5 - Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park
6 - Fallen - Evanescence
7 - Whatever & Ever, Amen - Ben Folds Five
8 - Break The Cycle - Staind
9 - Ill At Ease - The Mark Of Cain
10 - Heckler - Kranktus (Gotta love local bands)
11 - The Wall - Pink Floyd
12 - Brutal Planet - Alice Cooper
13 - American Idiot - Green Day
14 - Satellite - POD
15 - Human Clay - Creed

2 - Scenes From A Memory - Dream Theatre

that album is really good, im a bit of a fan of dream theatre and i happen to have that album.

really like the tracks "Overture 1928, strange deja vu and fatal tragedy from the album.

John Petrucci is a hell of a guartist. Not many years ago for one of their gigs they suprised a crowd of like 2000 people and performed the whole album of master of puppets, I have the live video of just the title track, and it is preety cool.

also yer saw crazy train performed today, but that rap verson lets go has really destroyed that hit lol, the rendition was good but its one of those covers that wrecks the orignal and hearing the orignal never sounds the same.

good to see alice copper in there too.

and i gave people the option to list 10 or 15 if you read my first post, i said 10 for the thread because that's all i thought people would give but boy alot of you have prooven me wrong.
some good lists their,

JZA you have to finish your list, was looking really good ;)

Pop stuff??? LOL

OKay so Missy Higgins is popular... and Sarah is popular, but she is not pop and Melissa rocks (maybe not as hard as metallica etcetera lol but her own style of chick rock)

Oh Dr Worm is a good song, funny as sh*t!
