XBox Live question

I had an account in the US and was wondering how it works here. Has anyone bought those 2 month promo memberships off US Ebay and used them here in OZ? I know I can probably go and buy one from game store or shop but I'm wondering if the codes from US xboxs work here. If anyone has tried this lmk.

nah no one responded. I did some investigating and it appears there is different memberships for different regions.

I thought that'd be the case but didn't know for sure either. I've heard MS points are the same deal, region locked.

Did you end up renewing your live subby and if so could this possibly be the 8th spot filled for the 2k9 tournament?
