Hello all, i noticed a few forum members own an Xbox 360. I wonder if anyone has experienced or knows of the Red Circle of Death? My Xbox 360 has succumbed to this and won't start up or play games anymore. I wonder if anyone could help me rectify this issue. Thanks in advance.
Gary
Yeh thanks man. I will give them a call now. I spoke to my gamer repairer mate and he says about 55% of the xbox 360's he knows about have fallen ill to this problem. Bad hit rate eh?
It seems to be limited to the 360's over 3-4 months old, then they fixed the issue "apparantly", luckily I bought mine maybe 6 weeks ago so with any joy have escaped, but sounds like a warranty job
If you've got Xbox Live and have downloaded games, you'll lose them, and have to re-download (won't have to pay a 2nd time), but you won't be able to play them unless you're online.
Also, all content (games, profiles, saves, etc, etc) on your HDD will most likely be lost.

just thought id bring this up. mine succumbed finally to this dreaded fate. but even though my unit was out of the warranty period, i was able to send it to the xbox repair free of charge to get repaired. easy process over the net or even phone. but net is quicker and less painful
and actually scottie because the hdd is removable they get you to take it out before sending the unit off as the red rings is a hardware fault internally and nothing to do with the external hdd. so its all good
only prob is im gonna be without it for 2 whole weeks. what am i gonna do. im gonna have to start talking to the gf. thats gonna hurt
Just sent ours off last Saturday for the 3 LED fault. From what I read on the net it is a problem with the soldering on the graphics chip. The connections go HR.
if u want a quick fix, wrap it in towels, leave it on for 30 mins and overheat it untill it turns off (dont like cook it untill u smell burning lol) then try again... my housemate got 3 months longer out of his before he sent it off this way...
