Wtf aus post!!!

I'm curious to see if this has happend to anyone else on here

I sent a package out Monday this week of about 10 or so cards from Melbourne to SA so should take a couple of days. Got a message today that the cards still havent arrived so i went up to the post office to see if they knew what was going on. And from under the counter the guy pulls out the 2 piles of cards no package bag that i sent them in and asks if these are mine


Needless to say i asked what the !@#$ was going on and the best explanation they could give me was and i quote "maybe it was searched for drugs and they lost the bag" what a load of crap.

All the cards are there and it doesnt appear they have been tampered with ie my tape is still on there and all of them are still in there

But what the hell man

Can anyone else give me a better explanation as to what the heck happend

They did give me a free bag to re post it in but honestly i thought there was nothing worse than NZ Post but apprently i was wrong

thats dodgy dude. but it being searched and the packaging lost/damaged beyond repeair is really the only thing that it could be. the fact they still had the contents makes their excuse kind of the only logical explanation...
doesnt have to be drugs they were searching for tho.

I say one of the staff wanted a peak.

The worst I have happen to me is if you are in a remote area. The mail may be in that post office for up to a week before it even leaves. I have gone in and they said oh we haven't shipped your package yet lol. That is why I always strive to do express now days.

if this was the case do you think the package wouldve ever found the light of day again? OR it wouldve been re-packaged. how would the 'snooper' explain it? theyd lose their job 100%...
i guess if you made an official complaint youd find out if it was searched legitimatly or not...

well every time my packages have been searched they have been carefully opened and sealed again with a sticker saying searched.

it could be a legit search or it could be a thief thinking it was something else and when they found out what it was didn't want it or someone who got scared last minute and realised it would cost them their job or it could of fell out of the package in the delivery truck amongst the other packages?

Sounds a little dodgy to me ! since when do they do a drug search at your suburban post office ? Pretty sure it happens at the major distribution center's !? The couple of time it has happened to me, it is not stuff that I have sent that has been searched and resealed, it is stuff that has been sent to me. Very strange. I would go back in and find out how you can get the issue investigated further. What if it was a pack with a MJ auto. pretty sure it would be long gone

Some PO take it the package when you buy it. My PO does that.

When I posted some stuff yesterday, the girl asked me what it was.

I told her they were the technical read-outs for a battle station.

She shrugged, stamped it up, took my coin and didn't think any more of it.

Bit off topic but with NZ post i sent something out a couple weeks ago on the friday and it arrived on the Monday which is very quick....Where i sent it out too is right in the middle of no where as well.....I think u just got some unlucky guy who snooped through it...

I agree, its none of her business what your posting.

They only need to know what the package is for customs declarations, and you certainly don't need to bother with that if you're posting within Oz.

Other than that if you have an airmail envelope you need to sign the non-hazardous goods box, just to let them know that your trading cards aren't going to detonate mid-flight.

Did you guys know that when you send something registered post, they don't actually enter all the tracking info right away? You can't actually track anything until the package arrives in the area in which it will be delivered. So if they lose it before then, there's no info in the system to actually TRACK it. Uh, duh AusPost...

Getting sick of them. Trying to figure out a way to send stuff cheap via courier through work.

I thought NZ Post was bad too lol

I received a package from Australia over the Xmas holidays.
Received in early Feb.

The explanation was that the package was intercepted because the packaging broke.
So they put the contents in a new box.

Maybe your bag got torn or something?

haha not wrong there. A card I bought the tracking numbers says its still in NEW YORK. I have had the card now for 3weeks.

If I was a dishonest person I could have lied to the seller that I never received it.

dammn kiwi, your soooooooooooo lucky you even got the cards and they didnt magically "disappear". in my opinion, some goof wouldve opened them to snoop what was inside. but then being 99% of people dont know anything about bball cards, they dismissed them. so your lucky you still had the cards to pickup. i say you are lucky cos I had this card i sold over 6months ago (went to france), and the buyer claimed he hadnt received the card and so we worked out a refund/exchange. then a couple days ago, i get this in the mail (i am so pissed off):












as you can see bro, it got returned to me BUT the freakin package was opened and nothing inside. you can see the pic of the back has writing in blue pen (which i assume is from australia post) stating package has no contents. so im guessing for some reason it didnt get delivered whilst in france, then soem donkey in France Post decided to open it and "see" what was inside. i wouldve rathered they threw away the package and left me in loss rather than send me back an empty package (its like a slap in the face). a couple months ago I got back a package also sent to france that didnt get delivered, but atleast that still had the card in it. Im so cut cos the card Ive lost is this sick NY Knicks patch /10 :



i will be going to the post office tomorrow to see if theres any explanation or anything i can do in order to file some kind of complaint. so basicaly I lost the original card, the paypal, and replacement cards I sent the buyer to make up for the loss of the Ultimate Six patch. i informed the buyer of what happened too (and to prove to him that i dont play games with mail I send), and he said his had 2 other packages that were opened and empty when he received them (he didnt even receive mine though, it got sent back cos apparently the return label states the Box/Mail Box was not identifiable/located. But the buyer says his mail box is clearly visible).
so again bro, just be happy you GOT your cards (albeit they were removed from their packaging), as it couldve been a lot worse. take care mate

Wow Steve that is really poor form by both aus post and france post and i know its a long shot but hopefully you get more than some sort of lame apology out of them asses should be kicked and heads should roll over that mess.

And trust me i am very grateful/suprised (and I'm sure the buyer was aswell) that the cards were just sitting there (makes me wonder what would have happend if i never went in there again though)

bro it turns out australia post have been shafting me for a while now but i just didnt know about it . went in yesterday to complain and see if i can find out anything about this missing card (above post), and the idiot comes back with FIVE PACKAGES of mine that were just SITTING THERE in the back collecting dust . if i didnt go in to complain, hell god knows how long they wouldve sat there. the first thing i did was open them up infront of staff, and thank goodness all cards were there. got compensated since they let me open the packages to verify, but man how dumb can you be??!! I CLEARLY label (to and from address) on the package. so i dont know how the hell they were "overlooked" and didnt get collected. pretty slack if you ask me, losing trust in australia post now by the week!!
