Bit of a story...

I was coming home from work, I had a meeting and was getting a bus home. So Im not usually around, just catching a bus, minding my own business.

A school kid and some girls were just outside the bus, but I felt they were looking/talking about me. Im not a paranoid type, I just got that feeling..but I thought "****en kids"..whacked on my mp3 player and continue to mind my own business...

Anyways the guy gets on, sit towards the front of the bus then hangs out the window. Now the track on my mp3 was in a long intro (usual tool song) and I heard him say something about me. Chances are it was a smart arse comment I just knew it was directed at me...

So I take it in stride, Ive copped worse in my time. He then comes and sits right next to me...noone else on the bus...the girls outside laugh...isnt this all funny...

I whisper in his ear "I dont care your a school kid, Id put my fist through your face if this bus didnt have a video camera"

he quickly moved back towards the front of the bus

my question is...would it be wrong to beat the shit out of a school kid if further provoked? me being 24 and all, I just figured Id get pinned worse (ie cops), as I should know better? Id estimate he'd be in yr 10, 11 or 12?

Depends what you mean by provoked i guess Trey, if it was just you thought they might have said something about you and then say next to you, chances are you would be taking a little holiday, if they threatened you with physical violence or made a really nasty (racist/sexist/etc) comment then you would probably be ok??? i dont know the law that well though...

But also, these new breeds of kids arent the everyday kids anymore, kids are getting bigger, and more manly in highschool than when we were there.... I'm sure of it.

I've seen a few year 12ers that'd probably whoop my arse! lol.

But yeah, if he was acting up like that, and sat next to me, I'd polite ask him (like you did) to f-ck off, and if he didnt, or laughed, I'd remove his arse from the seat, and replace it to the floor of the bus.

dude i'd just leave them. Sure they may provoke you but you'll always be seen as the "bad guy" unless they physically touch you first. If the guy is just bagging you out or making fun of you, your best bet is just to leave him alone. People do that all the time, but you can't go around physically hurting them if they haven't physically touched you. Just my 2 cents.

I had a similar incident in a mcdonals drive though, I actually got out and approached the car in front about their antics. Then they were on there mobile phones. Just so happens when me and 2 mates got to the end of the drive through there was about 15 of the little shits with about 4 cars. I copped a few in the face but at least I didn't need to call my little friends.

Ive calmed down a bit, and Im glad I didnt do anything...but I just think about the people I meet in my line of work, the guys who arent all there mentally, who could snap at any moment...

then I started to think...what if he does this to some poor younger kid? Im old and ugly enough to think nothing of it, but if I see him again, and this time its not me, but some poor younger kid, he's gonna meet his maker

If it was just to impress the girls, I could always get him back and nail 'em hardcore when they're legal LOL

I dont condone fighting...Ive only ever been in one...standing up to a school bully for one of the nerdy kids...I actually had a friend die in a school fight, he was pushed in a classroom, and hit his head...

I figure this kid will soon learn a quick lesson in life, a stray comment about someone in a pub doesnt go without a few punches thrown.

Haha...very funny story mate. You did the right thing but in answer to your question...if he had of provoked you i would have done something.
