Worth selling on ebay anymore!?

Wanna sell something but certainly don't want to have to deal with ebays/paypals stupid 21 day hold thingy.

I read their stupid page about it but I'm still not sure what would happen to my funds when I sold it.

Anyone that sells there still.... what is currently happening with your funds when you get them?

recently sold a certified green and had to wait a few weeks. only way to get it quicker is to send with tracking number and put said number on paypal as well as ebay. as soon as its marked as delivered you get paid. now mind you, paypal do not tell you these things. i had to ring and ask why i hadnt been paid when the buyer had received and given positive feedback. so they can organise taking the money via ebay but will only give it via post tracking despite ebay marked as received. this also means that you will have to charge about $25 in postage to have registered post with tracking and insurance, so only worthwhile on high priced cards..

I hadn't sold on eBay in AGES so I chucked a few cousins cards on there to see how they went, went really well and I STILL haven't been paid.

There's $300+ just sitting there and it just says PENDING. Very frustrating, wouldn't recommend it

I sold my John Wall totally certified Green auto on ebay and was able to use the funds within 5 min of receiving it. I always update tracking information etc on both ebay and paypal. Maybe that's the trick

So say you sell 10 items for $50 to all different places, you would'nt bother having them registered dlvd, you'll have $500 just sitting there "pending"? Surely this has got to hurt ebay? I have $200 "pending" and the guy has got the cards and left positive feedback.I'm still waiting.

Ok... This is how it works.

If you sell 25 things in say 3 months and you get good feedback, this is all of the equation.

If you have less the 25 feedback in 3 months, you wait 21 days unless you use something other then paypal.

Please see the above picture, this is my feedback. You will see that in the time frame 01/12/11-29/02/12 my stats are rather good except for 14 lovely bozo's in the states that think that if you are buying multi auctions and it lists .50 cents per additional auction, then you have the right to leave lower feedback for postage.

Anyway, how did I deal with this, I lowered my postage for actual even with additional auctions won. I had no choice. Now I clear right away, however if your being held back 21 days and then you are elevated to a higher standard, the money in the holding pen still needs to wait the full 21 days, which is where I am now. However all I sell now will be available right away until I fall below this imaginary line of existence again.

Now, they say if you have a tracking number blah blah blah.... Forget that stuff unless your selling something of value, but if your selling 5.00 and 10.00 or less stuff, really, not a big deal. If I sell 1000 things and I get 5 bounce back as not getting delivered, I take it in stride as there is nothing I can do about it. I factor that in the starting price of cards I am selling to get some of that $$$ back. Its like in business, you address what you charge accordingly to pay for shrinkage.

So, a suggestion is if your going to sell on ebay, have some money in the bank to pay for postage. Wait the 21 days and all should be fine if you give top shelf service and charge the postage of what it actually costs to fill the bag.

If your going to sell high end stuff, offer free postage and most likely if your taking bids on it, you will make more then if you didnt. If you do buy it now, add it into the price. Ebay claims that free postage will get you your money faster, but in reality, its just a marketing ploy and I do not believe it.

i haven't had to wait the 21 days? haden't heard of this. I am a silver power seller on ebay would this be the reason why? But in being a power seller you don't get the 30 free listing per month

Mmmm big T, I get my free listings... not sure why you wouldnt. Also if you still have your status, your in good standing and you would not have to wait, if you lose it because you go under that imaginary line, then you would need to wait.

nope ive contacted ebay and due to being a power seller no free listing, they told me id have to wait until i go back to regular then 30 free listing apply. Damn it been a power seller for 6mths now!!!! But pros and cons, due to ebay i found this site and spend all my time on here now
