Not sure if you guys play in the Winter Season, but I sure do, so feel free to post your game stats or game recaps here.

This has been my first season of reps, and I've been playing backup 1/2/3 positions off the bench for about 5-15 mins per game. I'm lucky if I can go for 5 points, a couple of assists, boards, a steal or two off the bench, I don't really get enough minutes to get going. However I can go left the best out of our whole team and am one of the best mid-range shooters we have. I also finish very well inside.

For school I'm playing at the Thornleigh Brickpit Friday Nights for the Open Schoolboys B competition. It's not bad, because the comp consists of mainly year 11's and year 12 teams, and my team is only based around year 9 players. We are coming 5/8 and it's not bad considering we're the youngest and smallest team.

One month ago we played our other school team which is coming 6th. We burned them 58-32 and I scored a team high 22 points. The next week we played the team coming 2nd in the comp and lost by 15, 48-33. I struggled in that game, scoring maybe 7 points on 3/10 shooting.

Last week we played the worst team, coming last and we beat them 61-21 in a convincing play. We were short on big guys so I played centre, I finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and I also ran the fast break for most of the game (my usual position is SG/PG but I can play 3 and a bit of 4 sometimes) to finish with about 7 assists and 2-3 steals. I also had 2 massive blocks in the first half, swiping their PG's finger-roll attempt past the 3 point line.

Tonight we played the Pistons, the 3rd team in the comp. I knew all the players as all are from our school, they had one of our 1st players with lots of 2nds and 3rds too. We narrowly lost 52-42 but we were down by 18 at one point after leading 4-3 in the first five minutes. I scored a team high 17 points and added 3-4 assists but was dissapointed. About 3 of my layups rimmed out against a full court pressure and I missed 3-4 jump shots which should have been ice. It should have easily been a 25 point game for me, but I only shot about 8/17 whereas I would have preferred a 12/17 game.

That's it for me, let me know about you guys!

I play with some old mates from school in a fairly low-level division in the local competition. I was a little tired of being the only scorer on our team, so I convinced my friend to play with us. Dude is an incredible three point shooter.

Our first 6 games, we averaged 39 vs. our opponents' 36.
Our 8 games with my friend playing, we've averaged 69 vs. our opponents' 38.

lol... I've just got to convince him to play GBL/ABA

ahhh how I loved those school years, I was playing youth league, and two local domestic comps, plus for school - with training in between, I had only friday (and sometimes sunday) off - every other night was either a game or training...

Im still in my two usual wednesday/thursday teams. We are defending champs for both comps. My thursday team got moved up a grade (maybe because we played in the last 5 grand finals winning 4!)...well going up the grade hasnt made a difference as we have now played the rest of the teams and we are undefeated 6-0.

My wednesday team are struggling a bit. We are 4-3. The comp is really lopsided, there are 3 good teams and 3 shit ones. So we play 3 shit teams in a row, then play the top team. We arent really worried yet, we still feel we are the best team in the comp...we have beaten the top team in every grand final...

we got owned by this young team, they are flashy and athletic...while we are slow veterans! But we had them with 5 mins to go, then we had a few brain farts and they ended up winning by 18! No way thats gonna happen again. I got into a fight in the last 30 seconds, Im smart enough not to throw any punches, but this guy was trying to push me and Im a big boy. He got in my face and I just told him "next game" so should be a firey encounter haha!

Personally ive been shooting the ball extremely well. Its been like this for over 2 years now...since I stopped with reps etc, I feel Im a better shooter, I really dont miss many and despite copping box and 1 coverage or double teams Im still dropping the points.

Ive felt my d and rebounding has sucked, but its getting back to reasonable haha and scoring inside has dropped off a lot, mostly because Im hitting the 3ball so well. But I got some layups and tip ins etc this last week, plsu the mid/short range jumpers were flowing...so its all coming back!

LOL... a PG/SG who averages 5-15 mins per game, scores team high 22 and played Center and got 13......

Bring on the OzCard averages boys......

Haha! That is for reps, coz it's a hard competition, Friday Nights i'm one of the better players so they look to me to do a bit of everything.

Played Wed night, we prob had are highest scoring game in awhile with everyone in double figures. 76-55
My stats 18points 4/6 3pt, 5 assists, a few rbds, 2 blocks. Acouple of our other scorers have taken a season off allowing me and a couple of others to take more of a scoring role. Before they left my average would have been 12-14 per game.

I play PG/SG, due to heaps of ankle sprains and twists I DON'T crash the boards! :D My shooting has gotten to the best it has been in a bout 3 years anything just inside the arc is money and my 3point range has vastly improved over the last month or 2, I've always been a good 3 shooter, but now I am consistent aswell! I'm 24 and my knees take a hammering, but there is no chance of me ever stopping playing basketball, I'll even play wheelchair ball if I have to! :D Wouldn't mind playing more, if there are any Perth boys who need a PG fill-in! ;)

I came out of retirement a couple of weeks ago and filled in for my mates team. (Not supposed to be playing basketball anymore due to footy commitments...shhh!!)

Pretty ordinary comp it is but the team won 59-36. I played off the bench got around 20 mins playing time. Playing as PG/SG had a couple of awesome steals on there PG. Hit a couple or 3's and had a pretty good night, i had the yips last week was tempted to play again but i didnt. I wish my ankles were made of steal, lol!!!

id love to play ball for a club again only problem is i have no idea where to find infomation about clubs and so on. Can anybody in melbourne tell me where i would find some inner city clubs for a 20 year old?

We played in our local/bruisers comp (is that close enuff Chad??) last night. Start of the Finals. We won (by 20 points) so we advance to GF with next week off.

Nothing major to brag about, got hit with a double tech.... for saying a guy stepped outta bounds (when he did, RIGHT in front of the ref too! - he ignored the play), I stripped him on a shot, and he spat it at the ref calling for a foul, perhaps it was a "one I missed, one I owe ya" call?? I had the ball passed it off, and then came the double tech.... oh well. we laughed about it after the game.

i played monday night and got fouled out 3 mins into the 2nd half with 4 charges :( I was playing angry..... we drew btw. Had 8pts and 5-6 boards and 0/4 from downtown lol before I hit the pine.

hahaha i've been on camp all week so i didn't play for my rep team on sunday, but it's interesting.

We played them 2 weeks into the comp and won 65-61 with a full roster.

Me and one of our key big guys were missing and we lost by 25.

Yeah, I play in a Sunday league at a PCYC, there's 6 teams in our comp, I think we're in 3rd or 4th ATM... But we started the season losing 6 in a row with me 5'10 at a stretch...) the biggest guy by a fair margin. Plus at the time I was the only non-filapino on the team, so I was usually rebounding against 2 0r 3 opposition players... #-o But now we got another Aussie around 6'0 or 6'1, so we can get to more boards and break out quick with the filos. Unfortunately, this week we only had 5 players suit up against the opposition's 8, so first 3 quarters we were leading, the in the fourth the other big fella fouled out and I was left guarding a big brute 6'5 and thick like a damn tree! Not happy, Jan... [-X Anyway, think I got 8 points, about 10 boards, 3 steals, 5 assists and the one I was most pleased with: 5 charges drawn... Ah, yeah... Also got 2 flagrants putting their big fella at the line, and a tech for good measure. I believe we have five fouls so we can use them, not just to add another line to the sheet... =D>

I played reps today.

Hornsby Spiders v Norths Bears

we got whooped by 20+ points. Our starting PG and SG went down both to injuries so I got to run a lot more in the 3rd and 4th quarter. Played only 2 minutes in the first half and forced up a couple of shots, I was 0/4 in the first half in about 2 minutes. Played about 10 in the second half, and scored 6 points including 2/2 from the stripe. Much better with more time. I also rejected one guy on the break hard. The ball was up high, I got my entire hand over it.

BOO YEAH!

good read guys! I haven't played for 3 years but I used to play state... I got inspired for a street game after Heat's game 6 win.. me and two mates took on some guys.. Thank god they were nobodies or we would have gotten flogged. In 20 minutes I got something like (guessing) 8 pts, 5 rebs, 5 assists hitting only 1/10 jumpers lol most my points came from layups, reverse or just putting the ball back in from offense boards! Who woulda thought that it was that hard to shoot a ball after so long! Good old school/college days! Couple of fights, couple of grand final wins, couple of techs and even got banned for one entire term lol Long story fellas! :) Jeez I sound like a drop kick ;) Keep the stats coming Jimbo! Any other fellas want to tell theirs? It doesn't matter if you go for 0 pts, 2 rebs or whatever.. who cares man!

Wow! What was your representative club? When you say state, do you mean state or metro or country? For NSW? :o

oh jimbo! I probably would get my butt owned by a c grader now! I mean state as in Tasmania under ages.. umm rep club.. can't exactly call it rep but it was Hobart.. guess you could say regional rep which was Southern... Jimbo mate.. I stink now.. gave up ball trying to turn a golf pro. Couple guys I used to play with are in CBA (still called that?) Couple others are bouncing around from leagues to leagues in countries like NZ, England etc. Funny thing is that a few guys who were better than those guys just quit, got jobs/girl etc Funny how some good kid ballers ended up doing nothing and okay kid ballers are now sort of pros :) Can you tell me exactly what a rep club is in Vic and NSW? Just wondering as I think in Tassie our rep clubs were pretty much any interested kids trying out for a team.. most of them made it cos we needed the numebrs lol

ahh well done jimbo...did you play at Norths? I love the courts there, scored my career high there when I was playing mens social comp!

Well reps NSW is spread over all of NSW there's about 15 teams in the NSW region I think with about 10 per team. Only the top players make it, there's no NEED for numbers so if you stink your out.

I agree, I see some of my friends who are awesome metro/state players and I think it would be funny to see them give it up one day. I think that in the end it's not how good you are, it's how much you pursue it and how much desire you have to make it.

nope, played at the brickpit but have already played at Norths courts, they're not bad!

Do you know any youth league guys from Hornsby Trey? I like that I've made a division 1 rep team, but I probably won't continue. To me it's not quite the lifestyle I want and too much bball is definately bad! I know most people won't understand my Christian ways, but at the end of my life I know I can't take basketball with me to heaven and there's no point wasting my years pursueing a pro career which takes so much out of you.
