The NT going for $12k is the parallel 22/25 ......... his Jersey number. Still outrageous. I'd rather pay $12 for a LeBron RC Exquisite /99
Prices are still too volatile. First NT RPA /99 went for $2450 (must be kicking himself now!) then $2800.
There is some up for auction right now going at $3000, $3050 and $2550. There is one for auction with an initial bid at $3500 without any bids yet.
Then went up to $4150, and next one again for $4150.
Then $4419 for the one numbered 99/99.
Platinum /5 went for ..................... $15,000!
The parallels out of 25 have gone for $5555 then $6000, then back down to $4200 (but this was a very weak patch).
I am sure it will settle down to less than $1500-2000 eventually. But I may be wrong.
Basically, with everything on the market right now, NT is still probably considered the marquee Rc card. The Exquisite of the 00's. Not Immac, not Flawless. Gala with it gimmicky "Lowest ever base RC card numbered out of 8" will never be any good, without an Auto and a patch in it.
In the end, if they are a super star, their RPA will keep some value, if they are not, then they will drop and level out at $500-1500. Key examples are DH12, CP3. Only ones to have kept their values over time has been LeBron, Wade (to some extent) and Durant.
