Rocked up to fly back to tassie from Adelaide today and got told they were not flying into Melbourne at the minute (scheduled leave 5:10pm actual leave time closer 7:10). Thus we miss our connecting flight to tassie. in exchange for the stuff up we got $330.00 back meal vouchers for dinner and we are being put up at a hotel in Melbs for the night (most likely the airport Hilton).

All in all they have bent over backwards to help and done their best. As I said to the ladies when there was people next to us at the counter complaining "it's no use being a whiner, **** happens". Needless to say they quite liked that=D>.

yeah my uncle is a captain for the airline and it is a great airline when it comes to this sort of stuff.. unlike others (i.e. Tiger and Qantas) who don't give a stuff about their passengers when planes are delayed..

yer they better then jetstar and tiger to tassie.

Jetstar ****ing cant land straight.

Tiger Airways always 2-3hour delays.

Awsome! I only fly Vigin Blue myself.....always liked their price, service and Aircraft that little bit more than the rest!

Virgin/Pacific Blue weren't so good when the mrs' sister was coming over from Syd... Her ticket was booked almost a year before, she got to the airport before check-in finished, and was bumped due to it being overbooked. I would have thought that the latest people to buy their ticket would be the ones bumped, not the oldest... and then they didn't really try to make it up, until she cocked up a fuss, and got some meal vouchers. In turn it screwed us who had to pick her up, and lost her a few hours with her mum who she doesn't see that often.

Obviously it's better domestically than internationally..!

That's a suprisingly nice story about airlines...but then again I haven't head anything bad about them from anyone...

When we went from Perth to Broome at the last minute we had to stop of at Port Headland on the way there and because of that we got free TV and free dinner :D And then on the way back something happened I'm can't remember  But we got free dinner again :) This was with Virgin

Is Skywest airline really that bad? I'm going to Broome next years for a mates wedding. I usually fly Qantas but I thought I would give this airline a go.

It seems most are saying fly Qantas instead.

Any thoughts?

Why would you fly Qantas? They have been sh*t ever since they started outsourcing their maintenance overseas.

I've always flown Qantas and never had a problem, never flown Virgin, it looks like I should though. A bi g difference in Price though, All return Skywest $350, Qantas $60, Virgin $800, or close to those prices anyway.
