Who do you collect and why?

Hey guys, just curious and wanting to know, who do you collect and why?
- Because they're your favorite player?
- Because you've met them?
- Because they're the best?
- Or you simply just don't know?
Personally I collect Rajon Rondo because he's my favorite player and will hopefully be a future captain to the Boston Celtics and A.J. Price because I watched him in college and he was easily my favorite rookie, also the game where UConn went into 6 Overtimes which featured A.J. Price.
So yeh, would love to know.

NBA: Team: Indiana Pacers because I go for them. Seattle Supersonics because I always liked them.
Players; Reggie Miller because he's favourite player ever. Granger and Hibbert because they are my favourite players ATM. Shawn Kemp because he's my favourite dunker ever. Gary Payton because he's my favourite PG ever and Payton to Kemp. Ray Allen because he's my favourite shooter behind Miller.

AFL: Team: Geelong Cats because I go for them.
Players: All Geelong Cats players. Harry Taylor because he's my favourite player.

Rose: AWESOME PLAYER and if I get a decent collection going with some autos and game used it's gonna have great value

Gordon: FUTURE STAR and cheap cards and the value is going to boost soon

Lopez: I LOVE THE WAY HE PLAYS and got decent priced cards, for good value.

Flynn: NO IDEA, I'm kinda regretting the decision but gonna stick by him for a bit longer and see how things turn out

Richardson: DUNKS! J-Rich is a dunking machine with cheap cards and alot base and inserts to collect.

Matt Bowen because he is my favourite player by 1000 miles. He also is popular and has quite a lot of cards. I don't really know why. I just remember as a kid going to Dairy Famers Stadium (got in free because my dad used to work on the gate for extra money), and Matty Bowen was the one that scored all the tries. I also like Aaron Payne because he is a born and bred Townsvillian & has been at the Cowboys his whole career. I'm starting to like Matt Scott aswell.

I think it's preety obvious who I collect AFL wise....The reason I collect Swan is when I was in grade 3 believe it or not Dane Swan came to my primary school of course he was a know name back then and nobody had any idea who he was. I was talking to him and he's a really nice guy. In 2009 when I got into the card collecting hobby there was know one else to collect in my opinion I already had a kick start to the PC as they were handing out these for free back in grade 3

little does everyone know but these were only handed out at school visits making them extremley hard to get.

I also collect NBA mainly Hasheem Thabeet because he was a high pick #2 overall plays for the grizzlies ( My favorite team ) And is a genuine shot blocker. I also started up a side PC of Durant nothing high end just yet just a few GU's and a gem mint rookie PSA 10.

Good Stuff guys! Yeh I used to collect soooooooooooo many players, but now I just cut it down to the 2.

For me its always been Isaiah Rider, slam dunk champ, the guy who fluked a three point over his shoulder tryin to save it from outta bounds... played for my Wolves what more could I want? I decided to collect Malik Sealy after learning about his influence on KG and his unfortunate death (RIP Malik). Plus he hit an awesome game winner threee for the Wolves one game...was awesome. Collect my wolves because they ar emy team, have been for so long and I'll never change teams

I think my sig says it all....

Oscar Robertson because he was a triple double machine and NOBODY has EVER come close to replicating that achievement. Mastery in all aspects of the game...

John Stockton because he's one of the very true pure PGs. Floor general, ball hawk, distributor and scrappy competitor. All time assist and steals leader - legend!

Jason Kidd - Little bit like Stockton as a true pass first PG and a bit like Oscar as an all-round player. Not the biggest scorer around but makes his teammates better.

Larry Bird - couldn't run, couldn't jump but the ultimate competitor who achieved great things through a great work ethic and a never say die attitude.

Jamal Mashburn - remember buying the Beckett when they had a massive article about him and he was on the cover. Been collecting him since his rookie year.

Other players I like: David Robinson, Dikembe Mutombo and in today's NBA - Kyle Lowry.

NBA teams supported: Clippers and Nets

AFL: Support St Kilda and collect some of their player cards - especially Robert Harvey - an absolute legend. My brother met him and has a personally signed poster on his wall. Classy guy too. I also like Glenn Archer - true Shinboner spirit and a no-nonsense approach to taking care of business!

NBA- Celtics of course, player wise Ray Allen because i just love watching him play sink 3's and the effort he puts into continually honing his skills.
AFL- Carlton i remember sitting on my dad's knee as a little fella watching our last GF win, it's also a family thing that i sort of had no control over so luckily i love my blue boys
NBL-Crocs- Back in the day I remember the Suns coming to a school visit and 3 of us won signed posters (wish i still had it) of the inaugural team after a shooting contest. Also I used to work casual at the TECS in the kiosk's and occasionally pulling up and resetting the floor between games and events.

I collect the Hawks because I am a Hawthorn fan.

NBA I tend to prefer defensive type players:
Wes Matthews, He caught my eye because we share a surname, but I liked his play as a rookie in Utah last year.
John Amaechi, first Englishman to make an impact in the NBA.
Paul Millsap, loving his play right now.
And David Robinson was my hero when I first started following the NBA.

Kemp was my fav player when I was younger he was so explosive and has a highlight reel of nasty dunks, I miss watching him and wish he had chosen a better path at the end of his playing days.
LBJ is the best player in the league atm in my opinion, I know theres a lot of haters out there atm but LBJ is the BEST.

I used to Collect:
D-Will-Love the way he plays, a true PG.
Mo Mo-Always was my fav Cav even when No #23 was around. Love the way h is playing this year and GO CAVS!!
J-Smoove-Great high flyer, he can make a highlight reel by himself. Also was a decent mid-range game.

Now Collect:
Cleveland Cavs:I love my boys, what can I say!!!

Its pretty much the same for me with the Bulls. Always been a Bulls fan - I got into basketball during the first championship run. Naturally, as a 10 year old I couldnt help but idolize MJ. I get most excited when I get Jordan cards, simply because he is the BEST. I also get very excited with Pippen cards, because to me he was the epitome of a truly great basketball player - he could do everything. Im not fussy though - any player with a Bulls jersey on goes straight into my folder.
