In my little break away from it all, I had been touched by the aaammmaaazzziiinnnggg genorosity of the people in this card collecting hobby.

Firstly, a big thank you to Chris - C32W.

While my "usual" connection was away, Chris helped me out on obtaining a card I needed for my set.
He kindly helped me pick up this:

Isiah EE

When the time came around for deleivery, he told me the card was mine!!! I was like "Man, you can't do that, your doing me a favour!!!"

When I opened up the package, it also contained my first ever uncirculated cards:

Shaq and Magic

And also, I saw a very shiny card of Lebron:

Gold Refractor :-)

Mate, big thanks for that :-)

Now, a shout out to Matt - Fullmetal.

Firstly, without this guy, I wouldn't have many, many of the cards I do today, little lone be as close to sets/theme's without his help. Copping unecessary Neg's from crazy sellers, redeeming overdue redemptions for me, and dealing with some stress that I really feel sorry about :-(
None of this stuff would have happened, if he didn't help me out with sssooooooooooooooo many of my items.

Anyway, Matt told me he is bad on keeping secrets :-D Ha ha ha ha ha

So before sending my package he squealed (after I helped him out on a card I thought he would like) and told me I would receive this, because................ "I was cool"!!!!!!!

EE-DRDavidRobinson40of75.jpg

Man, I couldn't beleive it!
I never knew I would receive something like this, and from your PC, just because of that. Mind you, I find some of the "excuses and reasons" for receiving presents a little perplexing, but for being cool????????
Man, I thank you a lot for this mate and all you have done for me :-)
Matt also threw in a ton of cards for my PC in the great Shaq man, Wade and Josh Smith. Thank you heaps bud :-)

And now, to Tim - Exquisitecollector

Well, seems like Tim managed to do some sort of trade with Jason aka pbudd88:

In my 14 years plus of collecting Shaq, I had never picked up a 1/1 of the big fella. Many reasons for that, cost! :-D Ha ha ha ha Too busy chasing sets/themes, prettier cards available and many of the plates etc are down right ugly.
Anyway, one day sitting at work, I get this package and open it up and was ssssooooooo shocked to get my first ever:

Ultimate1of1GiftfromTimandJason.jpg

Man, this is one of the prettiest 1/1's of Shaq I have seen.
Even more so, it has the "1 of 1" tag, which I find really neat as well :-)

After having a chat to Tim about his crazy gesture, I had to throw him the pressing question of "why he does it?". I must admit, it certainly was a enlightening response.

Anyway, time passed by and I get another package at work.
Being in the mood I was, I just sat at my desk and opened it.
If I wasn't having such a horrid time there, and the problems in my life, I would have realised I shouldn't be expecting to get much more mail, as I had re-directed everything to home.
Anyway, I open it up to find a letter inside:

Kobe1Letter.jpg

I was like ooohhhh nnnoooo, not Tim again.

I told him not too, I told him not too.
I know I told him not to, because I was there when I told him.
You heard me tell him not too.
I was like "please, please lord tell me he din't go out and do something stupid again".

So, after pausing a moment, I opened up the package and found:

This

Kobe1InCase.jpg

"Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!, You crazy person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You crazy, crazy person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Kobe1inplainview.jpg

Mate, I so wished I didn't promise you those many, many months ago that I would accept all gifts with glee and respectfully. As this is just too much to comprehend even at this moment.

After settling down again, I found out this card had much much more story to it.
And I have to also thank Jeff aka jkinjp and Kow aka kurtansh18 for their work in making this happen too.

I also gotta give a shout out to the wonderful people oh here whom sent me PM's and posts about my situation, and offering to lend and ear and support. You guys know who you are and I thank you for missing me :smt055

All your guys action, was one big part in making me return sooner than later. And I thank each and every one of you guys for what you have done.

Thanks for reading guys,

Mike.

Mike, they are some awesome cards and some unbelievable gestures....

Well done to those who set you that nice stuff!

Matt

Ssshhhhhhhhh with the Birthday thing.

Well all I can say is - u must be well deserving for all those guys to send u those cards - not sure what yr problems have been but I'm sure those amazing cards would've helped!!!

Awesome!!

Mike, you won the lottery ;) The Kobe looks great but I think the Shaq Ultimate is awesome. Thats a special card. Big congrats to you.

AndrewG23 - Thanks bud :-)
Yeah, I like it a lot. So much so, I think I might just start picking up some more of the others in the base set, maybe one day.

ljandkg - Thanks man. While I guess it doesn't matter whether I think I am deserving of these cards or not, but they think I do, and I guess that's all that matters.
But yes, it certainly did help brighten up the days, so much so, that I had to come back sooner rather than later.

Lippo - Thanks man, yeah, some sweet action was certainly received during my time away.

Funkadelic - :-D Ha ha ha ha Your not wrong. 2 Kobe EE's that are going at record rates, and my first Shaq 1 of 1, which isn't a plate, can't come at all :-)
But certainly, the Shaq is special for sure, my first and greatly treasured.

wow..
i got some base cards from a member here and was over the moon..

i cant imagine what its like to get those freebies!
amazing stuff..

geelongfan - Thanks man :-)
Let me tell you, the shock is still there and the gestures are still unbeleivable for me even till now.

nandalinnaung - Thanks bud, I love the Shaq as well.
I'm going to pick up some extra's of the 04-05 ultimate, so if people have some for trade, I would love to hear about it.

tony - Thanks bud :-)
