Which site best to create PC website?

webs.co is good and easy to set up. The only problem i have found is that i have run out of space and need to pay to get extra space. Im a tight arse so im over it, i'll stick to photobucket.

Yeah I like using photobucket for here as like a link in a sig but as a website to display and properly set out and write stuff in descriptions etc, it falls way short of what I want.

I see vivo87 uses .webs.com is that what you are referring to. Maybe it's not big enough either

Webs - Make a free website, get free hosting

What amount of information did you add that it wanted you to pay for more?

Want one with minimal/zero ads too

Yeah im with Nick, Webs - Make a free website, get free hosting is the best one when I looked around to start a website up. When I first looked into it I'd never made a website of any kind but once you get into it you learn pretty quickly! But as Nick said it's only free to a certain limit of meg and once you go over it you have to pay extra, which is what I'm doing, its $5 a month but I love having a website and updating it so it's worth it for me :) I think you get around 60meg free but with the $5 a month its like 500meg and gets rid of the ads on the site and also gives you extra slots to add videos and other stuff.
There's a lot of help and forums to help out if you ever get stuck on something which is very useful but I'll help you out if you need any help and I'm sure Nick would aswell.
As for designing your site I suggest you look at a few other PC sites (Marquis Daniels Collection - Links) and get some ideas of what you think looks good and different types of pages people have. But yeah if you need any help at all just let us know and I'm more than happy to help!

Yeah the key is to use scans of cards rather than photo's from the camera because they are smaller in size therefore killing your limits

Nick's explained it pretty well, im over the upload limit now which was 40meg (i think it gave me 47mb in the end). If you use it heaps its probably a good deal at $5 a month i just can't justify it atm.

*edit*
Just checking it out now and yeah its a free 40mb then there are 3 packages you can buy. The cheapest one is $49.95 per year with 400mb and 150minutes of video

matty, just stick to photobucket mate im telling ya. no charges, easy to browse, and got many options too. ive thought about making my own website and publishing it, but then thought about it again and again and always concluded that in principle it would be exact same thing as photobucket. just dont over complicate your bucket. thats the part where most people who do look through other peoples buckets get annoyed about. when you have to go through 10 bucket albums, and each album has another 15 albums, and each one has more etc etc etc. keep it simple .

hope this helps.

ps. otherwise if your addemet (<-- is that how u spell it??) on having ur own style, get a copy of Dreamweaver, sketch and draw up ur site on how you'd like the layout and where you want pages to lead to etc etc, then setup your own website how u want it. even buy/lease your own website address (example: www.garnettfan4life.com) and do it full on.

I was working on something awhile back, but didn't have the cash to get a design done for it so it's been stalled since then... :(

Just thought you might like to know Nick, that they have now introduced a complete credit system.

You can purchase them or earn them. For $10 you get 1000 credits. The cost of 1gb of extra storage space is 500 credits for 12mths so that would be the cheaper option instead of paying for the year subscription

I've started one with webs.com and it was also another 40mb free if you install their search toolbar in your browser so I did that too, see how much space I need

Yeah I have the rest of the week off so redoing my webs site.

I installed the toolbar onto IE (never use it) so free 40mb so will see how that handles but I started looking through the credit system etc and noticed you can buy the 1000 credits which would cover more space for 12mths cheaper than upgrading your site to the next package and you keep the credits for the year after
