Which players deserve more hobby love???

I've only been back in the game for 5 years or so however I am picking up on the general trend which is probably obvious to the seasoned collectors.

You start off with a player going through his rookie year and it seems like prices are high which would come down to the hype of a new rookie and the limited supply of cards.

Players get older and if they are not one of the top players then the card value seems to drop. This could be due to the number of cards available and collectors dropping the collection to pick up the next big thing.

So with that in mind, who are the players that have been around for a few years now that seem to be missing out on the hobby love?

My candidate is Tobias Harris. He is one of the quiet achievers in the Magic line up and seems to put up numbers on a consistent basis (could be due to the young Magic team). I had him in my fantasy team last year and wouldn't trade him. I have picked up a few nice autos of him for a couple of $$ whereas I pay more for Maurice Harkless cards and Harkless doesn't start.

Who is your candidate???

I am probably biased but Ed Davis deserves some more love! He was loved in Toronto but has fallen off the cliff a bit since bouncing around at Memphis and Lakers - hope at Portland he can find a nice role there with the team being blown up and all!

Dirk. His chrome RC refractors can be had for around $60-70US. That's crazy for a guy who is undoubtedly the greatest euro player of all time.

Agree with this.

Also, Pau Gasol. Dude gets zero hobby love!

I reckon Jeff Teague, Mike Conley and David Lee should get a-lot more love.

Also, LaMarcus Aldridge. Superstar in my opinion.

I think Bogut doesn't get as much love hobby wise as he should. Also looks like Kevin Love is getting a lot less 'love'.

One guy I can't believe how much they have dropped off so quickly is Danny Granger. I know he has declined rapidly on court, but that's due to injuries. Guy was still a stud. His rookie year stuff used to go fairly high.....now it's bargain basement stuff

For the numbers he puts up, Rudy Gay gets very little hobby love.

However, he has the sort of numbers that Panini look for in retired vets to fill out products, so more than like 20 years from now people will be going "who the hell was Rudy Gay!?", the same way we speak of Steve Mix ;)

Steven Adams! =).

All of the above are great examples of people who do not get enough "love" that we can see from feebay sales and post on forums like this.

Paul Millsap and Carlos boozer. Boozer was passed over in the first round of 02-03 draft and has since proven he should have been a top ten pick. Millsap was taken very late in the second round of 06 as an after thought. What the two jazz picks (dee brown and Ronnie Brewer) taken before millsap doing now in comparison?

I don't see many CP3 collectors out there. I'm sure there are a few but considering he's probably the best pure PG in the game and has been for a while, his cards don't seem to cause much of a frenzy.
