When did COMC start doing auctions?

concern with auctions is always fake bids to raise the price i doubt comc can handle this any better then eBay and i would worry it may be harder to spot with comc.

I have confidence that COMC would handle it better than ebay.

Here http://www.comc.com/Auctions/FAQ.aspx it says that you can contact customer service and they will investigate possible shill bidding and potential ban shillers. I just think that comc understands the problem with shilling in the card business and would care about it more than ebay would, I'm pretty interested to see how this pans out

@ozballer23 Why would paypal get to put their grubby little fingers on them?

Surely you pay direct from your COMC balance....

I wonder if you tried to bid more than you have in your balance, if you;d have to add funds?

And whether it is instantly deducted when you win, and moved to your inventory???

Things we will find out Im sure

Good points, let's hope it's a new alternative.

Very helpful FAQs there.

I think you should have to have the funds in your account prior to bidding.

1. So the buyer cannot reneg on the deal

2. It makes it near impossible to have a mate shill the auction.

This will help buyers as sellers will get desperate and send to auction.

Without the scope and economies of scale in relation to member numbers,
(like eBay has), sellers will lose out big time I reckon via an auction style process.

COMC is cheap enough and is a great site to finish sets off etc. and it is a shame they have taken this route,
as this is what has made the site so unique (for me anyway)!

I think COMC have realised that overheads will be an issue moving forward (labour to sort/pick/pack/post,
storage/warehouse capacity, etc) as there is a lot of low end cards on COMC and space will be a massive issue for them over time.

Lets see how it goes peeps and GL to COMC, hope it works out. I know I will jump in on auctions with COMC, as bargains are to be had :)
