Whats your opinion on this?

If somebody sends you a card as a Gift (or at least what you thought was a gift - with no mention of anything otherwise) and then when you pull a good card of a player they DONT collect should you be expected to send it to them if they try to guilt you into it? I would be happy to send them something of a player they collected if i pulled it but this is someone they dont collect and probably the best card i have available for trade, so what should i do? just send it to them? send the cards i received back?

Sending gifts is unconditional as far as I'm concerned. You don't do it to get anything back or anything else. You do it coz you want to.

I'd help out a player collector if I could but what you say is not on in my books. Sure I'd make the deal a little easier but to just give it away.....nope.. And I've given away probably more than anyone else here but would still expect to pay or trade for a card that someone pulled or had.

I'd even make G pay for a Hill 1/1 if I pulled one :-P

Tell him if he wants to be like that- he can have his 'gift' back!! Also mention that someone who actually collects that player wants it for stuff you want- not someone who just wants free profit!! You would rather give it to someone who wants/needs it than someone greedy!

Nope...No Way i would be "guilted" into sending the card.

When you give a birthday present are you giving one to get one in return?? Nope.....

I have sent you a free card or two Mattyj, i did mention they were free but i might lay down the guilt trip. How about sending that card my way.

I give gifts myself when i can, i've sent out quite a lot of free cards, and dont ask for anything in return...and i never asked this person to send me the free cards, but i did thank him, and i wouldnt have had a problem with it if he had collected this player, i wouldnt have hesitated...

damn... why would anyone? a gift is a gift.... that shouldn't mean there is any expectation that a card be given in return... I think if I received a gift... for the most part if I found something someone might need, I'd give that to them as a thanks....

but then that's just me!

Regardless of which player this person collects, he or she shouldn't ask for a free gift in return. A free gift is unconditional and you shouldn't expect anything in return.

I think it should be like that move "Pay it Forward"......

What goes around comes around. If I give someone a card I'd hope they'd fix me up if they got something I needed or keep the community spirit going by giving someone else something they needed

Im all for that Billy, but he doesnt collect this player, i'd rather give it to someone that does collect him...

chad summed it up. sending is unconditional, if you want something back, try to make a trade, otherwise don't do something out of the goodness of your heart and try and get a fee for it.

Sending a card as a gift is just that...A GIFT...
No hidden agendas...no expecting any thing back or even speicial treatment when that person pulls or purchaces a card you collect.
To do so without prior arrangement is just decieving and underhanded.

I believe in that to an extent. If you do something good for someone, somewhere down the track someone will do something good for you. But you don't go looking for it, nor asking for it - certainly not guilt tripping for it.

I would send them the card......or send theirs back ! (JMHO)
