What's going on with Australia Post??? :x  :x

I don't know how many of you realise this (and for all I know it might just be where I live or just Victoria....but I have a feeling it's nationwide)
tomorrow (being Friday Dec 30th) Aust Post have decided to take the day off....as well as Monday!!

Now I appreciate how hard they had to work in the lead up to Xmas (but they aren't alone there are they!!)...but I'm still waiting on a heap of items that aren't going to get to me any quicker, particularly with an extra (and in my opinion undeserved) day off.

There's my rant for the day!!! :x

It's coz of New Years falling on a weekend, just like Christmas. At least it is comforting to know that when they DO get back to work, your mailbox will be SWARMING! Yesterday I got my two VC floor cards and a Big Ben auto, and then today I got my Brad Miller auto in the mail too.

It's annoying, I know, but thats the way it's gotta be.

It's actually not quite the same as Christmas...

Christmas Day was on Sunday....we got the public hol on the Tues and Boxing Day was Mon so was the public Hol.

New Years Day (Sunday) is the only Holiday and it is being taken on Monday.... New years Eve is not a holiday......so Aust Post have made up a whole new holiday for themselves and my mail!!!!!

:partyman: :drinkers: Must be a frigin massive Aust Post party goin on to have a two day hangover!! :smt078 :drinkers:

I agree 100%...absolute crap it is that they have just decided to have a day off.

I think it is just as bad that most solicitors/accountants etc close for 2 weeks every year....and the worst part is that everyone accepts it.

Maybe i notice more because i have to deal with the everyday....damn bastards

And what's wrong with that???

Most manufacturing plants close down for 4 weeks over Christmas/New Year.

One of the places I work at is having 5 weeks, as their major supplier is having 6 weeks (so they can't get stock in).

Funny though, I saw some posties delivering this morning on my way to work, but when I rang AUSPOST about following up delivery of a parcel they said most of the staff were on a holiday. So who really knows ..

Thats because some posties are paid $$ on EACH parcel they deliver.

My postie gets a ton of mail on monday and has a dead line for each parcel. As long as it gets there on time he gets paid. That's why I get my mail during WEEKENDS as well.

If he chooses to work on Public holidays it's also up to him.
