Title says it all....what's the difference in sending normal PayPal money and PayPal Gift money?

Please, I need to know ASAP

Paypal gift, means basically you get no protection if they try and rip you off. Only ever do it for respected members but it's always at your own risk! You don't always pay the fees, if it's a smaller amount, not a currency exchange and not from a credit card you will not get charged anything. It's basically so the person receiving payment doesn't get any fees.

If the issue with paypal gift is fees, then send as goods and like if you're sending $20, make it $21 or whatever to cover the fees. Saves any issues, although if it was for a small amount the seller might not have a problem with refunding you if you ended up not receiving the item I'd guess.

I've only sent a couple of payments as paypal gift, which have only been for a few dollars. I'm given the option of making the seller pay the fees or myself, which I've chosen to pay. It's only about 0.60c I think for say a $5 purchase... Is this fee supposed to be there, or am I picking something wrong?
