So purchased a 2011 Beau Champion Series 1 sig card off ebay the other week, it was advised with free postage, anyway rcvd the card today which I have not opened as yet. the card came in a white envelope with no name on, only the address

Because it is in a white envelope I can see the card, and know for a fact the there is no protection, no penny sleeve no top loader, not even cardboard, just the card thrown into the envelope,

As I said I have not opend it up as yet to see the condition of the card and it was free post

eBay doesn't have any rules about postage, however, they do have to ensure that the item you receive is represented accurately by the description of the item.
If the description says 'as new' or 'new' condition or something similar and when it gets to you, it is not in that condition, you are entitled to a refund!

I would open it on video and if you are not happy, send it back.

If you are happy (and by some miracle the card isn't damaged), put the card in your PC and leave a neutral FB.

That's what I would do anyway!

unfortunately theres no rules on e-bay about minimal packaging. i guess if its damaged you could leave neg feedback for item not being as described. if its not damaged, then no harm done. luckily. either way, i would open the envelope...

Open the envelope whilst videoing. If the card is still ok, Leave feedback stating the the poor quality of the packaging so that other buyers know what to expect. If the card is no good, get your money back.

Sadly...caveat emptor. We post items properly on here, but I have dabbled on eBay and been stung. Not worth it in the end, and hell, I find plenty of trades or sales on here anyway.

Video is a good idea. Terribly disappointing for you. Nothing worse than poor packaging (I do buy CD's on ebay and some of the shipping, even when paid for, leaves a lot to be desired!)

Geez Adam, this sort of thing really p*sses me off. Only yesterday I sent an email to a seller on Ebay (female seller incidentally) who I bought a signature card off, thanking her. Fair dinkum it was so well packed it took me half my life to cut off all the bloody masking tape from the cardboard :p that covered the card (which was in a card holder and penny sleeve).

It is not hard to pack a card properly!

Something different that's for sure....... Can you get a refund (you definitely deserve it) or can the seller say pic was part of description etc....

And I thought it was bad when I bought a 1984 sticker set sold as brand new that had been stuck on white paper and cut out to appear new. This takes the cake from that.
