Just sitting on a slow train home and was browsing through COMC listings only to come across my most hated product PG is featured in, 2014-15 Panini Prestige and the variants of this product. I know it has been said before that there is no real way of identifying the different versions of the cards in the product and it only frustrates me every time I see the cards pop up. As a player collector it makes it difficult to finish off the set.

So, what is your most hated product and why?

I'm not lookin for answers such as "anything Panini" because we have all heard those stories too many times and there is nothing we can do about it.

I agree with the prestige versions. They suck.

On a high note, I actually love Innovation which most people hate. It just reminds me of the foil inserts of the 90s:)

I love Innovation also.

My most hated set at the moment has to be this year's Absolute. I just think the cards look tacky with the washy blue/orange background, and the multiple event-worn random patches. "Tools of the trade" I think they're called.

13-14 Titanium
14-15 Threads
13-14 Prestige

I actually like last year's Prestige, as with Innovation.
I love the inserts in Prestige, in particular the Rookie Acetate cards, and the patches are cool.

2014-15 Donruss was horrific with tacky die cut sticker autos
2014-15 Paramount with the non-significant buyback autos on cards that were no more than 5 years old
2014-15 Prizm with its close up photography looks terrible compared to the other Prizm releases
2014-15 Eminence for the price tag the cards look ugly and I would rather a cheap release like Court Kings than that garbage
2013-14 Preferred was a poor rehash of 2012-13 Preferred with worse booklets

There are plenty of sets I hate within products that I love such as the INK autos in Immaculate. I think Panini have really upped their game in the last year or so with major improvements to Select, Preferred, Gold Standard, NT and the introduction of Noir.

The 2 that immediately come to mind for me are 10-11 Gold Standard & 10-11 Black Box. Both for the same reason: the window sticker autographs. It looks tacky, would cut the top/bottom of most player's signatures & looked particularly bad on Black Box, as they used a white back for the auto. At least with Gold Standard, they used a gold back to kind of match the card.
