As kids, we all wore the jersey numbers or atleast wanted the jersey numbers of our heroes playing on our little league basketball teams. Or, we've all worn our idols replicas/signed/gameworn jerseys or have had them hanging from the walls and ceilings. We've probably had them in our usernames (ME!), passwords, lotto picks etc. BUT!!? What is the most worthy jersey number:worthy::worthy::worthy:?? Probably 23 but 33 and 32 are right behind or there! Mine is definately 33 as I still wear it playing basketball:razz:.

KG wore 34?

I'd have to go with 23. Mike and Bron, says it all and it's only 2 players. 32 comes in second for me. Shaq/Magic/Malone would have to beat out the rest of the combo's.

Personally, I always wore/wear 14, never understood fighting over 23.

i've always worn, and still do wear 25, because i figured that noone was wearing it and i would make it my own!

Nice Thread, Jason. =)

KG wore # 34 in H.S. but I think we might consider KG as 21.
(Because he used that number at just H.S.)

And for C-Webb. He wore # 2 only a little time.

So we would have to consider C-Webb as # 4.

IMO, # 33 is best through entire NBA history.
(But # 34 is also crazy)

I think you might forget this crazy guy.

# 23 might be just only important for MJ before LBJ.
(Of course, there were Richmond. But he was not super star. Of course he was a very nice SG though.)

The reason many people think # 23 is the best, it is from MJ impact not from entire of NBA history.

Here is my addition (you didn't write) from my brain.

# 1 - Oscar Robertson, Penny Hardaway, Tracy McGrady

# 2 - Moses Malone

# 3 - Dennis Johnson, Allen Iverson

# 4 - Joe Dumars

# 5 - Bill Walton, Kevin Garnett (Both at Celtics)

# 6 - Bill Russell , DR. J.

# 7 - Nate Archibald(Celtics only)

# 10 - Maurice Cheeks, Tim Hardaway, Dennis Rodman (Pistons)

# 11 - Isiah Thomas, Detlef Schrempf(Sonics)

# 12 - John Stockton

# 13 - Wilt Chamberlain, Steve Nash

# 14 - Bob Cousy

# 15 - Vince Carter

# 17 - Chris Mullin, Brent Barry

# 20 - Gary Payton

# 22 - Elgin Baylor, Clyde Drexler

# 24 - Rick Barry

# 31 - Reggier Miller

# 30 - Rasheed Wallace

# 32 - Kevin McHale , Bill Walton(only for Blazers)

# 34 - Paul Pierce

# 42 - Connie Hawkins

# 44 - Jerry West

# 8/ #24 - Kobe Bryant

But most important # might be # 99 from BB history.

# 99 = MR. Basketball = George Mikan

I wanted #33 of Zo and Scottie.

When I realised I was a SG/PG I then changed it to #3 because Iverson was all the craze then. In addition I was a huge Marbury fan and as I hit high school D-Wade emerged :)

But when I got to playing rep and higher levels I couldn't pick my own number. Thankfully I've been given decent numbers.

When I captained the 16A's I was #5, which to me was symbolic of Jason Kidd's leadership :D

Then coincidentally the year I played reps and for school I wound up being #8 for both teams. Fittingly so since I was hitting lots of jump-shots then - bit of KB24 for ya ;)

Then for my practice jersey I donned #22 as a lefty like Michael Redd. My other one had #14 for Jameer Nelson.

My final year of school I was the last player selected for the team so unfortunately I got #12 which has no significance to me whatsoever. But hey that's Dwights number I guess :)

I started with number #6, but shortly after changed to #9 and have been playing as #9 ever since. Just liked that it was mine and I have always played in it :D

The answer is obvious - 42 :D

I used to wear 15 because that was Ray Borner's number, but now wear 9 because it was the only one available that fit me!

aahhhh you guys:razz:! haha I was just getting a conversation started... I know Parish was 00 and KG was 21 and NIQUE=D> (34 in high school!!!!!!)) some one got that one:D:thumbsup:!!). I just put #4 on there. Kemp was more well known as 40 from the Sonics;). Aha Jimbo with Scottie and ZO, My 2 favorites next to Larry Johnson (2).

Yeah for 33 you cannot forget about the gentle giant Kareem!

And for those of you who forgot or didn't even realize how good Mitch Richmond Represented the #23 at his years of RUN TMC, here is a great link to his comparison to Jordan:worthy:. He also sported #2 for the Kings and had a small run with the Lakers!

Being a Michael Jordan fan from the start, i decided that i could not shame #23 as a player (never able to dunk  ) so i opted for #9 for his USA jsy # and always wore it with pride as a player :D

Respect. I've met some hardcore Jordan fans that would almost come to blows over who get's to wear 23. The number won't change your jumper.
