What does everybody do other than collect cards?

hey guys im brent, just turned 26 unfortunately... moved to newcastle to be closer to family and the mighty knights, about 6 months ago, was born and bread in the country (not ute driving acubra wearing country) and still love going back home getting on the piss with the boys and chasing women... love expensive clothes, my ss, the beach, UFC, NRL and of course NBA. I spend way too much money on cards but couldnt live it any other way. Im very easy going and hard to get on the wrong side of, my nan is my favourite person in the world!

Hi everyone, I'm Matt and I'm 25.

I currently live in Melbourne's northern suburbs with my girlfriend but I originally grew up in East Gippsland.

I currently work part-time at Woolworths and study history and archaeology full time at La Trobe University.

I love my sports, namely NBA (San Antonio), cricket and AFL (Geelong). In spite of this I only really collect NBA cards simply because Select couldn't make a decent cricket or AFL set if their lives depended on it. Here's hoping Futera lift the bar for cricket cards in this country.

I'm Rhys 25 years old and live in Tassie have previously lived in Victoria @ Pt Cook, Townsville and Airlie Beach. Work for Woolies as a 2ic produce manager down here in launceston. Have a partner who somehow puts up with all my basketball card, star wars and Marvel comic buying sprees and a 6.5 month old Ranga son who watches box breaks with me for the packet crinkling and the "shinies". Fairly ****house at playing basketball due to bad knees and ankles but love to watch it. Only got into card collecting this year really and have already amasses a large Ray pc along with a few thousand other cards.

For anyone who cares.. I am 51, I played Aussie Rules as a youth but I sucked at that so tried Baseball instead it was there I found my niche playing for 20 years as a catcher with the highlight umpiring in a Claxton Shield game. I have 3 sons 20, 18 and 18 (twins) and a top wife. Love Cricket but don't play it (have my own cricket net in the backyard). Own and run my own Window Washing Business. Only new to card collecting only started because I have everything I want and was bored. and if you couldnt tell I am a massive Carlton Fan, my manland (SA for games Room/Pool Room) is a shrine to the Blues as is my Office. one thing I don't like..Basketball and Soccer the two best things in the world to cure insomnia.....

Anyways, I'm Bainy. I just graduated from James Ruse last year and I'm studying Commerce/Maths at UNSW. Want to be an actuarist when I graduate, well not really, I just want to stay at home when I graduate, trading shares from 10-4, having late mornings and collecting cards :v:

I play touch football for uni, basketball casually and do oil paintings when I can be bothered

Otherwise I do my homework and sit at my comp alt-tabbing between OCT, a game I'm playing and homework!

I am 33. Taking time off from my work at a bank (you can guess for yourself which one) though my wife still does work there. I am currently a stay at home dad with my 2 year old and I'll go back to work early next year as my wife will be back on maternity leave with our second baby.

I am lucky in the fact that my wife has two older brothers and is the only girl in her side of the family. So she loves NRL and Cricket. She talks tactics better than I and stays rational unlike me. She was a Para fan, but I converted her to Souths (and slowly worked through to her dad too). My little boy knows the rabbits on sight, knows the colours and knows they play 'footy'. My wife also abides by my card/tazo/footy-cricket collecting (as well as my music collection) as she figures its healthier than smoking, drinking or gambling (or combined). She used to be bemused but now actually helps me bust boxes, builds sets and gets genuinely excited when pulling chase cards. In fact, she pulled the Arthur Beetson 2008 sig and we both celebrated like it was 1999.

I always have music on. Always. Anything from Aqua, Anthrax, Alice In Chains, A Ha, Abba to XTC, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Frank Zappa and everything in between. I am a frustrated drummer and I want to buy a kit so I can learn with my children - my son already is quite rhythmic.

When I'm not doing all this other stuff, I am in the midst of writing novels. I have a few different worlds I inhabit in my writing. From 1997-2001 I wrote a couple of bloke-lit comedic stuff like Nick Earls (look him up) but I grew tired of the genre and not getting stuff published. Plus it was hard to write earnest, bloke looking for love in comedy situations when I met my girlfriend/wife when I was 23 and all that stuff disappeared because we were settled. At the same time I had a trilogy of Angel novels that were 3 inter-related but different novels. I also have about 10 chick lit types treatments written or in my head or in bare bones - figured I'd give them to my wife to develop as she wants to write too but is working, pregnant AND doing uni. Currently, I am working on my 2nd novel in a fully realised series of futuristic, dystopian, sci-fi adventure novels for teens and adults, with dollops of humour, history and fun. That takes up 95% of my writing time. The other 5% is spent fleshing out a Neil Gaiman type fantasy novel with characters far, far removed from my main series. Looking for a publisher, so if anyone knows one and wants to make a lot of money off me in the next 15 years, let me know. LOL.

Other than that, I have collected footy cards/stickers since 1982...though seriously since 1989. I am a simple man...I like making sets and getting the low end chase card sets. Depending on finances some years I buy more boxes, but generally, I like the commons, the Team of the Year and Club Player cards, the odd signature card and Souths stuff. Also like tazos, Telegraph cards and let's face it, if it is footy, and I can collect it - esp Souths - I buy it.

With cricket - if it is Australian TEST/ODI, cards, etc...I buy it.

Anyway...I should be working according to my wife. See ya round!

Almost 27, 2 kids son aged 3 daughter is 6 months.

Currently a sales rep for a nursery, mainly selling to Bunnings and government departments.

About to start my diploma of personal training.

I collected cards as a kid but nothing serious.

Bought a few boxes 2004-05, but really got back into it last year.

I play cricket, basketball, hockey. Use to play gridiron, and ice hockey.

I am looking at opening my own personal training business with an emphasis on childhood obesity as well as assisting women who want to get pregnant with lifestyle changes to help the cause.

Massive Port Fan(see photobucket in sig) also proud paid up member of PAFC, go to all home games. Usually get to melbourne at least once a year to support the boys.
Spare time...whats that....... I do go fishing with my daughter and go to Clipsal with my lad every year, also regulars at Mallala raceway. Took him to Bathurst last year, might have to do it again...

I play ball, just Div A rec leagues 3 times a week, workout and practice every other day..

Have been collecting cards sice i was a little kid use to go to the brickworks market every weekend. SA guys would remeber the days at the brickworks. There was 2 card shops in there. Also would always go to grahams card shop on henley beach road after school those wear the days.

im 22, im a sparky by trade, which is sweet, i work at simplot. we make all the frozen fish products for BIRDSEYE and I&J. Fishfingers etc. thats me.

i collect james harden, i have followed the NBA for a fair while now.
i follow the newcastle knight, aston villa and the milwaukee brewers in the MLB.

i drive a Black EVO.
been with my missus for 4 years now.
i play premier league hockey here in the central west.

i love dr pepper and smiths BBQ chips.
i also have an addiction to extra dry. love a beer with the mates.

I collect DeMarcus Cousins, Have been a BIG fan since his days as a Kentucky Wildcat. I have followed the NBA for around 7 years now, have been a Nuggets fan for all 7 of those years.

I do also follow NFL, AFL, NHL, MLB and pro Tennis. My teams are Miami Dolphins, St.Kilda Saints, Vancouver Canucks, Colorado Rockies and last but not least my fave tennis player is Andy Roddick.

I like to consider myself a big movie buff, huge fan of horror films. I also enjoy traveling, I have been to the US multiple times, including once to Hawaii.

Simon. 27. Freight & Logistics Manager. Teams I support = LA Lakers & Manchester United. Golf & NBA are my everything. Magic Johnson was the first celebrity I saw on TV when I was 4, so I've been following the NBA for 23 years. I get up at 4.45am for work everyday, but I'll get up at 3am to watch Tiger at a golf major (when he's playing well). I've been overseas twice, while I pre-booked a Presidents Cup golf package in Melbourne later this year in the hope of seeing Tiger for the first time. My hobby's are photography and buying way too many blu-rays, but my whole life has been in someway dedicated to everything Michael Jordan. Avatar = My favourite current shoes (AJ23's).

Well I'm not sure if I have posted here but in the last 6 weeks have got a new job so I guess I can now update! I now currently work for the MFB (Metropolitan Fire Brigade - for those non Melbourne people) servicing and testing fire their equipment and also do privatized testing for any other companies. Pretty sweet job working with all the equipment and letting hoses and extinguishers off all day

i am 19 years old and work full time at AHB Homes as an estimator for investment properties so anyone out there who wants to build an investment property in melbourne just lmk lol

Im Nick, im a sign writer by trade and work in a 2 man sign shop in Waterloo NSW. We do large format printing/displays/vehicle graphics etc and im payed much less then im worth

Im a die hard South Sydney Rabbitohs supported since birth and support the Bobcats in the NBA, i don't have many other hobbies/interests these days other then cars and cards as you'd already know by the amount of time i spend on here

I've never posted in here before but figure why not. I'm a 27 y.o full time Dad from Clare, S.A. My daughter is 5 months and a few days, she cut her first tooth the other day, the day after her 5 month b'day

Before full time fatherhood I kicked around between cafes/restaurants, vineyards and was last working in a Dairy Farm. I'm pretty flexible with the work I can do and my wife loves her work as a music teacher (not to mention gets paid twice as much as me for half the work done ) so full time dad was a logical move.

Love basketball, just started playing again in the area last season which is fun, aside from the fact my team is a bunch of randoms from 16-40 year olds so we were wooden spooners A Bulls fan since childhood. Also playing Hockey at the moment.

Collected all kinds of trading cards when I was a child as well and just this year got back into it which has been fun, pretty much just interested in collecting bball and some stuff like Battlestar Galactica.
It's been nice talking to some of you on this site so far for the most part. Glad to have found it and met some other people with similar interests
