and when would they be playing these games? managers would have a fit.
would be good to see i guess, but i can think of loads of reasons why it would never happen...
who would pick the teams?
it wouldnt be a FIFA thing either, it would be up to all the individual leagues, and they would all have to work together and unselfishly to make it happen.
and players would be called away for this? from their regular teams and training? or it would be played in the off years when there are no world cups or euro or copa? or players holidays?
i doubt anyone but the fans would like to see this happen...
They can play it when ever they want, im sure they can figure out the logistics of it all....
Team can e picked by the public, or some sort of committee, Manager can be the winner of each league if you like...
If you offered enough $$$ all the Leagues would be interested, the TV revenue would be huge...
Without the fans there is nothing
you guys are dreaming...there is no way this would ever happen. to many conflicting interests for starters, then the fact that everyone in football is already complaining about the schedules being too packed. 'figuring out the logisitcs' of a whole other tournament, isnt as easy as it is typed. what happens in a world cup year? dutch and spanish players only got 2 weeks off this season. youd have them play all year round?
you think arsene would let fergie manage RVP? for a exhibition tournament? held two weeks before the start of the season?
new player contracts is a big one aswell...
just sooooo many reasons why this couldnt go ahead.
Martin Luther King also had a dream, you just never know, maybe Michel Platini might have a dream as well....Ofcourse there would be many issues, but clubs and players are all greedy offer them enough they will participate, instead of playing trial / exhibition match's they can play a 10-14 day tournament... doesn't need to be played every year, could be every 2 years...
Who said ManU will win the premiership, maybe Arsenal might win it so AW can manage RVP.... Remember there was a time when the big clubs where looking to create their own SuperLeague and not play in the local competition all because of $$$$
hmmm, i dont really want to get into it, but none of your retorts really adressed any of the issues.
platini can dream all he wants, but its not up to him. the amount of governing bodies that would have to sign off on this would be massive. MLK jr.'s dream A) killed him and B) still hasnt come to fruition.
and it dont have to be fergie managing RVP, my point is its risky letting competing club managers have say over training and playing techniques of rival team players...
no right manager would allow messi to play in an exhibition pre-season tournament, possibly under a different coaching staff...just think if there was an injury.
theres already massive arguements over the conduct of clubs during international breaks, and the reported injuries that may or may not be fabricated. and thats when it involves international caps. i thnk it was arsene that was thinking of getting compensation for one of his players because of injury sustained during an international match.
the super-league issue is altogether different because the clubs already exist. not as hard to just set up a new league if youre ditching the old one.
even every two years would strain the schedules, no?
thats all the dream-killer views im going to put on this party, since everyone else around here seems well on board! take it with a grain of salt if you want...
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ this symbols solves most issue's.... I doubt that the managers would put players through some sort of boot camp, it would be more trying to get some combinations happening on the training paddock, if a player gets injured then his club doctor can assess him, seriously it aint that complicated.. Yes it might be a pipe dream but would be a spectacle and a half...
