I've found this thread very interesting; firstly the mere idea of a 'super collector' intrigues me but secondly the attitude of the posting members regarding being a super collector.
I collect Mikan cards and I collect them because I like to, not to attain titles or be lauded for it; I recently posted in another thread that I actually store my cards in a wooden box on my bookcase; I've actually had people ask me "what's with that box?" as I rarely discuss my cards outside of this site.

I have many people intrigued by my collection as they know nothing about cards and enjoy discussing them. I find talking about them outside of this site brings more people into the hobby, helps me find leads to cards that I might need and what's the point of building such a nice collection if you can't show it off? Super collector is a title only, in the end self satisfaction with you own pc is what should drive you to make it better.

So are people when I tell them about my collection. Especially the jersey cards; that I have a box full of cut up basketball jerseys encapsulated in cardboard interests them no end.
But you hit the nail on the head Norm; my own self-satisfaction is what drives my PC.
