Ooops, sorry man we were still talking about breaks in the other thread, hadn't seen this new one !
G/Gear or Certified would be good (or Contenders might be even better, it's new and it's out next week I think), Epix is pretty ordinary. The more expensive options would be Sterling, Absolute or Plates and Patches, but there'd be less cards, but maybe bigger hits and the share cost would be higher.

We might need to gauge the amount of people willing to buy spots in either a $50 break or a $75 or something ? I'd probably go two or three spots in a $50 and at least one in a $75...okay, maybe two ;-)

Haha no worries man, I thought I'd open up this new one an all the box/ case talk can go in here?? Yeah I think contenders will be good and that comes out next week if they don't push it back again!!!! I would go 1 spot in $75 and prob 2 in a $50 one ;) would have to check prices all up might do a little quote or something up to cover shipping x 2 (aus and u.s ) then top loaders and penny sleeves and stuff what u think ?

I'd take a box or 2 if you do a case share. especially if it is certified
If you do a case break, a card draft is a good idea, everyone gets a hit.

Am I the only one who thinks Contenders looks ugly? My personal choice would be going for higher end boxes like Plates and Patches, Sterling etc..

Plates & Patches looks very niiiiice, but would you get enough in it to keep everyone reasonably happy? same with Sterling. Obviously everybody wants to pull a Tebow or Bradford 1/1 auto but for every big hit there could be 8-10 people in the break with jack s**t. It is a hard one to cater for with 32 teams

Is hard to decide how to split the cards. I am only interested in the Packers cards and would not go in for a pot-luck/randomly nominated team in a break.

If we split a case between say 8 of us, then we could each (assuming we want different teams) get the one team we are really chasing, plus 3 other teams that are randomly selected.

If a person had more than one team that they wanted then we could also work something out??

Thoughts??

I'd be in for anything you get but I think it would be better if it were a case share where each person buys a box, it keeps everyone happy and everyone gets something rather than doing the draft/team selection and all the problems about who wants want etc etc...

Looks like it's going to be hard to come up with something that pleases everybody.. I hear what you're sayin S&S and that's why my original idea was randomizing the buyers into an order and they then "draft" teams in that order, so you could get the chance to pick a team unless someone higher up had already picked them etc

Not sure if there's any real benefit to anyone in splitting a case by boxes...it would just be more expensive than buying the boxes from the supplier yourself....

You are probably right.
I suppose if we pick teams then several good hits could come out for one team and leave everyone else with very little.

Might be cheaper, seeing as you only pay frieght from the US once?

I'd be keen on a box in a case share, but wouldnt want to be getting an allocation of a certain team (except mine). Would rather just open a case(box) then do trades between members who bought into it so they all end with like for like or thereabouts of their team.

I'd have my doubts, first off you're paying full price for a box out of the case and not a share of a break (there'd likely be more shares than the number of boxes in a case, so shares would be less than the cost of the box - of course you get less than a full box of cards also!)...and as well as the shipping on the case there's a possible 10% GST charge as it'd be over $1000 (if it gets caught coming through that is) and you then have the post from the person who receives the case, splits up the boxes and send them to the person who wants the box. I'm thinking you'd be better off just buying direct yourself and not going through all the hassle.....
And there's little or no saving per box in buying a case - Certified is $1920 for a case of 24 boxes and $80 for one box. If we could save $20 or something per box a case buy and split would definitely be worthwhile, but it seems it doesn't work that way which is a pity...

Agreed, at least Cherry have taken the initiative and are getting the stuff here but at a premium unfortunately compared to DA Cardworld

yeah but you gotta bring the stuff in, shipping, taxes, postage to customers... he has to make a little for his efforts. If we could afford to bring in a case per week and bust ourselves would be great.... at least we can be a part of it... get the excitment going!
