But when he went to bid the auction had been ended by the seller. he contacted the seller and was told he could buy the 16 card Sydney Set for $300 delivered!!!
My friend asked me if I thought that was a good price as he had not seen them go for much less but to be honest I have not seen them on eBay at all!
Can anyone here tell me just how RARE they are and if in fact a Sydney Team set is worth that much ??? Thanks in advance
Tell him not to buy them of this seller. I had a couple of bids on some of his cards and he cancelled them. Then told me he didnt get the reserve he had in mind. I said that in future he should just put the starting price at his reserve and to stop wasting my time. He has now banned me from bidding on his auctions. He seems to pull a lot of auctions of at the last minute.
In the past I have bought Ess, Carlton, Richmond and St Kilda sets for under $100. Not sure if the swans are harder to get, but if your mate waits another set will come up.
Yep, this bloke pulls heaps of auctions. Dunno what he expects to get for the Akermanis HS auto currently up for auction, but he pulled that last week when it was about $60 with over a day to go.
Of course, Aker is a great player, but he signed 800 of the bloody things, so he cannot expect a premium for them!
My biggest problem with that is that you have a bid on one and dont bother with the other. He pulls his off, the other auction has ended and you have missed out on both auctions. ebay should put a stop to it.

Ebay's got bigger things to worry about than this bloke. But seriously, what a vvanker - I'm guessing he's paying for listing fees over, and over, which is probably why he wants a huge amount for a card that is numbered /800
