Never been much of a NRL collector but would like to put some insert sets together. So far I like All Fired Up from 1996, Game Breakers from 1996, Meltdown from 1997 and the Sensation Gems from 2010. Any other I should look out for? Don't really want anything older then 1994.
My preference is for signature cards - Top Prospects, 2009 Classic stands out. Also like 2002 Future Force, some big names: Gallen, Lewis, Tate, Kite. Not cheap though!!!

Yeah I'm more just after insert that are eyes on the eye and not way to expensive, I sink to much money into my NFL and NBA collection to chase signatures
Take a look at 2006 Invincible All Stars, nice cards and affordable. Also Club Player of the year sets - 2005 Power & 2003 XL would be my picks. Beter than more recent sets with foil signatures and gem cards etc.

The Select insert sets have been pretty repetive over the past 10 years, Team ofthe Year, Club Payer but like Jason lol I like the 2005 Club Hero set and also the first sketch set in 2007 Champions was good.

A lot of folks hate the foil signatures, but I reckon the 09 and 08 sets are two of the most attractively designed cards Select has done, and they look great as a set. The 2010 ones are a horror show.
Keeping it low end, I love the 2005 Team of the Year cards - about the only time Select did this set without all the little heads of other TOTY players.
I agree that Dynamic did some nice looking inserts and subsets, particularly the 04 Supporters Choice (that had career stats on the back) and the 06 All Stars are a simple effective design.
My fav set to look out aren't even inserts - the 1995 Dream Team subset. 18 cards - best team of the moment, including a four-man bench and a coach. Very simple notion that worked and unfortunately Select never saw fit to replicate.
Complete sets... By far Classic and Strike. Quite like Authentic and XL...
Sub sets.... I liked the Tradition legend Die Cuts which are an expensive set.. And the regular footy faces were pretty cool too... Id like to have seen those in the dynasty set.... And the Strike Predictors set floated my boat a little too.... Maybe alot actually!!
If your looking for a cheaper set for starters, how about the 2012 Champs Showtimes?
There should be a few floating around reasonably cheap now as Dynasty has just been released.
