What are the 76ers doing?

I just read that Iggy is on the block again. Which I thought was fair enough as long as they were going to use the cap space to lure a scorer to the team. However rumour is Wizards and Bobcats are the top contenders for him. Now I'm also reading that Lou Williams wants out and Spencer Hawes, who is a very promising 24 year old big man, is also on the block.

I don't understand their mentality. They, along with the pacers, have the best young squads in the league. They have something to build around and could really push hard in a couple of years.

I would love to see Williams at the bulls while Rose is out, but don't see that happening because i reckon he wants to be the number one PG which would only be for a season or so at the bulls.

I am a huge Bulls fan but have always had a soft spot for the 76ers so can some philly fans please enlighten me as to your team's mentality.

cheers

I think in the Hawes situation, they don't want to match the 5-7mill he might get elsewhere. Can't believe Iggy is on the block though. Hope they reconsider it if the rumor is true!

Yeah true, but big men are scarce atm so an average player will go for a premium. Iggy was on the block the end of last season too. Unless they are going to get one of the Bobcats or Wizards first round picks I'm not sure its worth it.

Iggy always seems to be on the trading block. I think the Sixers need to pick what guard they want to go forward with: Holiday or Williams. I'd go with Williams but I don't know what the Sixers think.

I'd keep IGGY his such a Good Player. And when your talking about the Guard Than i'd Have Holiday anyday. I'd let Hawes go as they could use Vucevic more and Hawes will get some interest.

I'd say they would move Iggy with any pick in the top 15! This draft is pretty deep, and if they are trying to clear the books for a top free agant, it may work out. Good RC, free some cap space and potentially sign a top free agent. We may see a package that will include a player and a pick for Iggy.

I would have thought Iggy would be at a high point, value wise at the moment, so not a bad move imo!

As Norm said, a decent rookie (Not an RC, as a card is pretty useless to the sixers:p), and save some dollars for a FA. There are a few decent ones around and I would think they would/should be eying off Brook Lopez if they move Hawes! He too is young, and under rated at the moment I think!

You see Lopez is only a scorer not a defender or rebounder, which is what the Sixers lack. They have enough pure scorers on the team already I think they will trade Iggy for a pick to get a big man like Green or Moltrie who can do both score and play defence. Just my opinion :-)

Rumor has it that they are willing to let Iggy move on as they have shown interest in brandon roy and/or gerald wallace. One of those guys, add lopez, brand and possibly a top 15 pick, you have quite a good team!

How old is Gerald green these days? Don't think Brandon Roy is such a good idea. All well and good to say he's feeling great but knees don't magically heal themselves and he will go to feeling like shite again once the grind begins. I have really seen enoghu of Philly to comment, is iggy not their star player? Why would you want to trade him?
