OK so before christmas i purchased some DVDs from this site called goldrockdvdshop.com thinking they would be legit DVDs of good quality... instead i got 50 disks of what seems to be very poor quality pirated DVDs which is nowhere near DVD quality... not to mention how damaged the box was!! i cant claim from paypal because it was a non ebay site and they did send me out an item (fk paypal too) apparently as long as you have been sent out something that is good enough for paypal and it is only when they do not send anything at all that you can claim for item not recieved.. so now i have decided to wage an internet war with the seller and want to put people buying these dodgey DVDs that come all smashed up anyways... here are some pics of how the item arrived and remember that these were nowhere near dvd quality also...

Sorry you had a bad experience mate. One of the reasons I will only buy my dvds/blurays from Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk as you know you are getting the real deal.

yeh it really sucks that u dont always know what you will get when you buy from random sites on the net... but the only thing you can do is try to get the word out there and hope that some people are spared making the same mistake...

it was actually a present for the womans mum for christmas and it arrived 2 days b4 looking like this.. then we thought ohh well as long as they play good we can still give it to her but then when we tried some of the dvds the quality was absolutely terrible and it woulda looked even worse on her plasma :(

yeah that sucks dude I wouldnt buy any dvds from anywhere on the internet, BigW or Kmart are the go cheap as JB HIFI charge through the roof for DVD's!

have you contacted the seller of the item? if yes what did they have to stay about it!

they offered partial refund of $20 or full refund if i returned the item... but they obviously new that their product was like this b4 it was sent out and i do not know whether i could trust them to refund the cash... if i sent the item back i would lose out on another $30-$40 sending it back there and wouldnt know if id certainly get my money refunded...

well this particular boxed set normally sells for around $250-$300 so $100 dlvd seemed like a bargain.. i woulda been able to put up with the damaged box if the picture quality was better but its absolutely shocking...

Yeah I have brought a couple of box sets off ebay from the US about 4 or 5 years ago the first one was Kolchak the NIght stalker, when I first opened it the box was damaged and it also looked like someone had printed it up on there computer and it looked like the disc had be burnt off a real copy but when I plyed it the picture quality was fine so I never worried about it and the the other 3 dvds I brought of ebay were V the mini series V the final battle and V the series never had a problem with those.

Theres a ton of old TV show ie Project UFO that I want to get but you cant get them here and theres none on ebay but I found a site kinda sounds similar to the one your talking about that has it but it looks crap as to me the pics they have taken of look like they have made it so it turned me off buying from them.

That's too bad mate...... but yeah..... $100 for that... "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is" comes to mind.

I don't agree with any of that... there are plenty trustworthy stores around.... Australia has EzyDVD, AtlanticDVD, FBO etc etc..... US has Amazon & DeepDisount is great too!

As far as JB is concerned.... they have some great specials some times & when I buy DVD's I buy a lot from there.
