Got these in today after giving up. After over a dozen emails being told different stories from different Upper Deck places they finally agreed to send me a care package.
The card I had to be replaced was a dual Jordan/Kobe signature shots numbered to 15 from Sweet Shots. I knew I would have slim to nil chance after seeing the redemption had expired by about 9 months when we pulled it nearly 2 years ago.
These are the cards I got in place, I'm happy that I at least got something but how hard would have it been for Upper Deck just to send me a normal Jordan or something nice. Was my first and only Jordan pull since.
The Pistons card is the same one I was meant to get with Jordan and Kobe.
Something for nothing is not really the thing. Shouldn't be expired redemptions in products especially a high end card like Jordan. That auto is worth about $1300-1700, so a $80-100 Zo isn't really something for nothing. But was thankful enough that I got something. I have redeemed expired panini products even a court kings Kobe auto and received it within a few weeks.
That is the thing. Upper Deck see expired redemptions as "we no longer owe you anything" whereas Panini see them as "we can no longer give you THAT SPECIFIC card, but will replace it".
I think Skip's line of "something for nothing" is pretty spot on though Brett. Busting UD wax which contains expired redemptions is brutal and most/all people would expect to get nothing out of UD for it, but you at least got something!
Yeah Adam's that not the point I was making though.
Big difference between a Jordan auto and a Zo auto. That is the reason I no longer stock upper deck old products as their customer service is not existant. What happened if one of my customers and fellow collectors busted it they would have been devastated as my redemption was only expired by a few months. Took me over 20 emails and over a year to get a resolution.
Thing with upper deck is I believe they are sitting on stock as I've only ever seen two of those autos surface. All I asked for was for a common Jordan auto didn't ask for replacement value.
Hence the reason I don't bust Upper Deck basketball much anymore. If yourself and Skip were in the same position you'd at least want a Jordan auto or try to get a card similar that is all I did.

Yeah I understand now thought you were attacking me for expecting my auto. I was happy enough with th me replacement but if they could send me the laimbeer/Mahorn auto of the same card why couldn't they send me a Jordan? Or anyone else for that matter like Justin or Exhibit. Panini are always striving to improve while Upper Deck lingers.

Yeah, I think it is kind of rubbing it in as well! That Mahorn/Lambeer is a sweet looking card and just makes it worse to know what the MJ/Kobe would have looked like!

What I meant to say was that I'm glad your efforts were rewarded somewhat in the end, not to worry, you're first MJ auto bust is surely just around the corner!
