Since I decided to start building a PC from the ground up at the start of the year, I've focussed on trying to grab just about every Noah Vonleh card I can get my hands on. Thankfully his lack of playing time this year ensured that I could actually afford to build a PC around his cards while still collecting a player I believe still has a ton of upside (any other Top 10 pick this year and I'd have been doomed!).
With well over 100 unique Vonleh cards, the novelty of collecting countless "player-worn" patch cards was starting to wear a little thin, continuously paying large chunks of money for a patch from a jersey off the rack that's been cut up (a design feature more than anything else). With that in mind I started scouring the net to see if any Vonleh game-used jerseys were available (not an easy find when he only played 25 games!). As luck would have it I managed to land not just a game worn jersey, but one from his debut, and it thankfully didn't invite too much bidding competition!
Definitely not a bargain by any means, and easily the most I've spent on any single piece of sports memorabilia, or card for that matter, but when you consider that one single box of National Treasures costs the same price I'm thrilled So behold, Noah Vonleh's NBA debut jersey where he put up a monster statline of a missed shot and a steal in 6 minutes of action while getting blown out by the Warriors!
Well, he might not be a Hornet anymore but pretty pleased with how his NBA game-worn debut jersey came out after a week being framed! Ended up being an absolutely massive piece (I guess a 2XL +2 jersey does that) but think it's come together really well. Ended up including a Prestige Prestigious Premieres auto in the frame as well...decided it was the cleanest on-card auto of his available to date (just edged out Paramount).
Can I also just give a shout out to "Picturesque" framing in Melbourne for the work they did here. This absolutely massive piece (nearly 1.5m tall), double mounted, set me back $210 which is about half of what you'd pay at most other framing places. I stumbled onto them on Facebook but am sure glad I did. If anyone in Melbourne needs anything done I'm extremely confident that you won't get a better deal for quality work than you will through Mohamed at Picturesque.
